Not that I would mind another companion, but Asclepion makes the call.
I say no. The group is together and beginning the main part of my level. No matter how cool your character picture is.

BUT- When my level is done, someone else plays a level, and then another person, etc. If you hang around, another player can bring you in during their world. Your character is not refused, but is on indefinite delay. Check back soon :)

I'm somewhat busy today, leaveing soon and returning in around 4 hours, only too leave again after another 2 and a half. I'll be back in the evening, 7~8pm.

AGAIN, let me quote myself:

so if there's anything important happaneing, feel free to take control over Stonefuse, if the situation calls for it. Just remember what is he like.
Stonefuse will probably be of use in underwater levels, as he doesn't need to breathe, but he CANNOT SWIM. He's slow, moving on the bottom of the ocean, but he can climb, so unless it's a floating island we're going to, he should be fine. Calls everyone in the group "Master", except for Atticus, he's either "Master Just Atticus" or "Just Atticus".

On a side note, try not to drown :3

I'm not sure how you imagine shield handles, but they're like this, and trust me, it's nigh impossible to disarm someone's shield. But I'll let it slide this time :p
Cut the strap maybe? Doing so would prevent the shield from sitting correctly, throwing off balance, making it desirable to drop the shield.

It wouldn't be easy (close to impossible in real life) but then again we have well trained player characters with magically enhanced swords so the term "A wizard did it" works pretty well.

Alternatively, in theory, if Aleister's sword got caught in Damien's shield, Damien might undo the buckle and drop his shield to escape the close range. This would assume that:
1) Aleister's sword is sharp enough to pierce the shield and;
2) Aleister has the advantage in extreme close range (maybe he has a shorter, thrusting blade?).

Finally, we could use a more literal definition of "disarm" and assume we need to get Damien a prosthetic shield arm. I like this option best because then we'd have a badass magical paladin type that looks like he is from 40K [b/]with a robot arm[/b]!

Aw yes, the OOC summary method. Boy, was that useful!

I say we mainly use it for when things get hectic, not like the calm conversations that are currently happening.

I had another image of a shield that didn't use a leather strap, exactly because of this, as I assume that the Grand Master of Dakesh warrior monks wouldn't use one, but instead something more stern.

I'm glad we agree it would be extra hard to do so in real life, and yes, magic would definitely help. The reason I mention it at all was because I go to LARP trainings (there's a large gathering later this month) and I have first hand expereance. In fact, I've been to two today. (I like my LARP).

And at the very end, I didn't even ask him to edit it, in fact I practically told him to leave it like that. Like I said, knowing how hard it is to do something like that in real life made me react with a comment. Nothing more.

RIGHT, TIME TO POST SOMETHING IN THE GAME THREAD!

Oh dear god, why would you do that to yourself. I used to boffer fight when I was in high school. If your LARPs go anything like those all-out brawls, I'm surprised your up for typing.

It is rather physically intensive, but we like to win on those gatherings, so we prepare. As our captain said: "I don't think anyone prepares for it like we do." But I like it, and I need the workout anyway. Besides, we need to win on those gatherings, we've a reputation to uphold :D

We've also the heavies armor, and we're proud of it! Check some pictures if you will. Personally, I haven't yet been to one of those gatherings, but I can't wait.

Go Green Banner :D

On that note, since I made a post in the game thread, it's high time I take a shower.

I'd have to second that, it was originally just supposed to be one or two posts to fill space before Asceplicon posted again, but it turned into a betting pool.
Alright, Alright. I kinda have to agree with that. It's just that avouleance left the post, I was feeling zap happy and this happened. Fine, I'll end the fight prematurely, a draw or something. Probably with a misfired explosion. that'll be fun.
Don't worry about it, keep it going if you want. I was just explaining why I started it to begin with.

besides the captcha is omnipotent: practice makes perfect

Gonna post this as a marker and eventually in any case if I get the chance to play, I already know the ordeal but just want to get last marks from you Asc.
(Yes this is based of my old one, but I've got an alternate in case)
<spoiler=Esperina>
Character Creation
Name:Esperina (Esper-in-ah) Last name forgotten.

Age & Gender:31, Female

Height & Weight:5'4" 148 lbs.

Appearance:pale skin like an albino, eyes as black as the oceans depths, and bald as new born babe. Average in appearance physically if a bit heavy set and a bit flat. Despite her age she still looks to be in her 17-20's.
Clothing is a large proofed brown cloak, with hood and metal clasp, big enough and deep enough to cover one completely. Beneath are leather pants and vest (soft) with more pockets and clasps/buttons then one would expect, along with simple under clothing of white. Bare foot and bare skinned she looks like a human (not counting skin and eyes).
Her tendrils are squishy and have a texture like a manta ray, while the color and sheen is like that of oil in the rain (puddle).

history:Born on a level infamous for poison she was the spawn of a Geshak and a Human climber. While the levell itself was a massive jungle, filled to the brim with both rare and deadly plant life/insects/etc. the Geshak were the only remotely humanoid species there, compared to "lizard people" and often misrepresented as such, they thrived as traders, guides, and generally being nomadic in their homeland.

Esperina was both premature and a "mutant" due to her half-breed nature, being both scaled and smooth in places and constantly getting sick. unlike her father and his race who were immune to poison and used it even in cuisine, she was still quite vulnerable. Her mother had left both disgusted at the events leading to her birth and the fact she was driven on by her own quest, her wereabouts are unknown.

Her father still loved her and descended the tower with her when his own home-level was killing his one daughter, they spent years traveling together while he told tales and taught her skills in the more peaceful areas of the tower. He would speak of such fine foods, sweet music, and rich culture of his home, but as they both grew older he spoke less of the wonders, and she thought it was because of resentment for having a half-breed under his care.

She began to ask to be taught the ways of the Geshak, desperate to learn more, going so far as to try and improve her immune system to ensure that they could return without fear of her taking I'll. Sadly the more she begged and pleaded and was taught, the more depressed her father got. Until one day he was killed by mercenaries after his blood, a rumor spread of its curative nature, running from them she would later come to work under an Inn/rest house and spent time there learning of who had hired them, and of ways to turn Human.

Later a certain noble would die of fatal food poisoning and the latest cook would disappear without a trace. For Esperina it was an end to an old life and a beginning of a new one, over the years she grew to despise her Geshak half and had finally found a way to turn Human. A climber came to her and told he could grant her wish, in a large cloak (the one she wears today), he beckoned her to meet him at the outskirts of town, when she arrived she was attacked by a monstrosity of black and many limb. She would wake next to the corpse of the man she had met before, naked for the most part she took his clothes and left town, feeling oddly hungry and bee lining to a local farm.

Ravenous she practically fell upon it like a plague, eating animals alive, and crops raw, she only began to notice the difference in her appearance after looking in the water, she had become a monster. Tendrils were bursting from her skin, her hands were claws like Geshak, and her skin showed not a single scale.

She would begin climbing because of this, and would further explore her power as she traveled, as it slowly began to change her.

Reason /things to do:to seek a cure for her affliction, to visit her homeland, to find her mother, and to possibly die.

Personality:A bit scatter-brained or absent minded at times she can still focus on things easily, always willing to help or take a hit for another she is protective (if a bit suicidal) at times for others. Good natured, she still feels depressed and at times can be quiet as a rock, or simple' to chatty, or even batty.

Notable skills:Is a decent cook though a bad eater, and has knowledge of poison and their cures. While at the same time a "taste" from them as well and their counter parts to cure such ailments. In a sense a natural alchemist in poison and cures simply by eating them (being immune to a vast majority helps and improved after her change).
most of her lower and upper body is just skin and black flesh like material of what she considers a parasite. Despite it gnawing at her like a constant hunger she can sprout and regenerate tendrils to latch, crush, harden/stab things, it can act on its own like a reaction, split in to many strands or a single strand, and consume/drink things.
she no longer needs to breath oral or nasaly, or even use the bathroom among other things, while her body seems to store or retain oxygen on its own easily
Strong in general she is easily a match for grown men,
Keen eyesight in light or dark, and can hear through tendrils via vibrations (if a bit fuzzy), while limited sense of sight from them as well.

Equipment-Knives (concealed and in a small pack worn in the small of her back) simple metal and wooden arrangements, one for meat, fruit and vegetables, and a bowie knife basically. a sealed fire kit and emergency torch. Small precious gems, herbs (and poisons) are stored in her pockets in pouch or small bags. a small set of extra clothes, needle and threads. Water flask, and dried goods in metal tin sealed.

Okay, here is what you have missed as far as i remember:

One of the crystal columns that cover the level created a sort of magical barrier that prevented most of us from entering a cavern (the way to the next level).

Stonefuse made it through by strength of will

Caedis and Aleister pulled Veritas (who was stuck in the barrier) through, with a combination of their strength of will

Damien, Atticus (with some aid from Faunra) broke the barrier using the crystal shard that we took from the column back in the beginning (the one Atticus and Damien were in an argument about), after which everyone basically got through.

While this was going on, the party came under attack by a group of crystal warriors (pictured in post 169 for reference). several were beaten back/destroyed but more kept coming. Faunra was injured during the fighting

Zavier swam through the falling barrier.

The party ran into the cavern on the other side of the barrier, the crystal warriors pursuing.

Aleiester patched up Faunra while the crystal warriors caught up.

Upon reaching the cavern, the crystal warriors froze in place, and a big lizard looking thing appeared and started insulting everyone (pictured in post 191 for reference). Said lizard thing is called a "Spiriah" and said "his master dislikes all of us, except Caedis, who has potential.

He then proceeded to ask Caedis to kill everyone and join the bad guys.

Atticus is very angry right now (the Spiriah used the word "Popsicle" to describe Atticus's freezing home/family)

Caedis pretended to kill Faunra to get close to the Spiriah and cut him up.

Thats more or less everything you missed. any questions, feel free to PM me

Nastok, I saw your OOC post in the game thread and I thought for a bit. I might be able to help you branch out with Stonefuse after this little tussle is over and Asc does something with Nathan and/or Spiriah.

Alright, we got through another level :D

The Jewel Ocean
A level of islands and small continents. Massive crystals rise into the sky, forming columns to the clouds. The riverbeds are covered with gem fragments and crystal formations, and the surroundings are home to a wide range of colorful animal life. All flow into a vast ocean that fills the level. There seemed to be no gate, but a gate there was, and though invisible it could prove very strong. The spires are said to have been made from the crystal of Thozos Scintillis, and imbued with an ancient power. They were aware of enemies both visible and invisible, and guarded the level wherever they formed. For though any army might attempt to pass the Jewel Ocean it could not pass by strength of arms; only by a will greater than the crystalline watchers could a path be forced. And if such a will could be summoned, then the gleaming spires would emit an invisible alarm that brought the floor's guardians down on the intruders.

You're up, hiei82. Name your floor and provide a brief description in your opening post (whatever would be generally known).

We should see if Viking Incognito is still around and bring him in, too.

Okay, I'm writing up the level description now and I will send Viking an invite to see if he still wants in.

Thanks for the heads up!
