The way I see the connection between Etrius and Caedis is more than just that they both lost everyone they cared about when they were powerless to stop it, but the context of it. They were both prodigies in battle and that gave them confidence even though neither of them had seen real war. Then when it finally came and people they cared about died and they, with all their skill couldn't stop it, they both took responsibility for the tragedies, and so they share a very particular type of grief/guilt.
Deep stuff huh?
Side note: What's with my character and almost dying by sharp objects? (the crystal guardian claw, the ice storm, now an angel's claws) Faunra should just stay inside lol
