You're right, not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things.NastoK said:Doesn't really matter. Like hiei said, you've been making a lot of posts with the whole relationship thing, might as well let someone else post something. Just because Damien asked the two to help him, doesn't mean that anyone else can't do it.
Sorry, I no longer have the post. As soon as I saw the Caedis post, I deleted it - in retrospect I probably could have salvaged some of it but, well, C'est la vie.Evrant said:Hiei, do you mind putting up your post here? Just so we can see how you would of done things.
How was Aleister supposed to explain to the group "Hey guys, sorry for not being there when you took down Calgradni. The reason why I disappeared, was that I became a Reaper of souls."Redryhno said:Well, maybe not so much Aleister, he did suddenly disappear during the last level and didn't have that convincing of an excuse for being gone.
"So Aleister, let me get this straight. You never left the battle, you just became the embodiment of death itself...okay buddy, glad to know." Atticus said, slowly backing away from Aleister.Evrant said:How was Aleister supposed to explain to the group "Hey guys, sorry for not being there when you took down Calgradni. How on earth could you explain it to people, without them thinking "he has gone mad"?
True, but from his perspective it seems like you ran from the fight. It makes sense he wouldn't trust you completely after that.Evrant said:How was Aleister supposed to explain to the group "Hey guys, sorry for not being there when you took down Calgradni. I have to admit Naut, that did make me chuckle a bit.TheNaut131 said:"So Aleister, let me get this straight. You never left the battle, you just became the embodiment of death itself...okay buddy, glad to know." Atticus said, slowly backing away from Aleister.
You make a good point Hiei. I do plan for the whole secret to be revealed at some point. Its just how to do it though?hiei82 said:True, but from his perspective it seems like you ran from the fight. It makes sense he wouldn't trust you completely after that.
Downside of keeping the reaper power a secret I suppose. All you can really do is try to regain that lost trust - maybe help Damien with something, sometime during the storm? Or maybe the effort required to maintain wind shield you're going to put up will be enough to change his opinion.
Either way, it would make an interesting plot element
Well, you could set up a situation where Aleister is forced to reveal the secret or suffer some consequence (e.g. he needs the reaper power to accomplish a task, but cannot find a phone-booth to change in) Maybe he needs the power to maintain the wind shield, or someones life is in danger and the power can save them, etc.Evrant said:You make a good point Hiei. *puts on thinking cap*
Could do a mixture of both. Say, some icicles are passing through the field, heading straight towards Faunra, and by using going reaper, he manages to deflect them away from her; but also having the bonus of keeping future icicles off, thanks to increased power. I could also work in that, when they are done, he collapses onto the ground (still conscious mind you), and begins to flicker between himself, and his reaper form.hiei82 said:Maybe he needs the power to maintain the wind shield, or someones life is in danger and the power can save them, etc.

Note to self: include the line "I feel a little burned out."
hiei82 said:Side Note: I have a question, what exactly are your reaper powers anyway?
Was worried someone might include Stonefuse in the cellar, so I'm glad you didn't. In case anyone is wondering, he's outside, in the "rain", as he's too big to enter the cellar (and isn't hurt by the ice).TheNaut131 said:snip
That's a lot of powers... Superman would call it a little much (jk)Evrant said:hiei82 said:Side Note: I have a question, what exactly are your reaper powers anyway?- Ability to see the souls of the dead
- Teleportation
- More powerful magic
- Enhanced strength, speed, and reflexes
- Telepathy (Think back to the conversations with Dante Sutcliff near the beginning of the level.)
- Increased endurance (Able to shake off attacks that would kill a normal human. Will elaborate more on this when we reach my level.)
- Second Sight (Able to see things that are beyond the standard levels of perception.)
- Summoning (Able to bring scythe to his side, regardless of distance.)
This is just what I can think of for now.
May have more later, for when we reach my level, which is going to be a reaper base, will help explain things.
As for some insight into my level, well... Its going to involve a rogue Reaper, who has gone mad, and taken over a reaper base, some years before the start of the RP. Reason why the rouge hasn't been dealt with in the past, is that he has been able to beat back assaults from loyal Reapers; which have depleted their numbers somewhat, hence them recruiting new numbers.
More will be explained later...
Well Hiei, I did already provide a description, along with a reference pick for what Aleister/Nathaniel looks like when he is a Reaper; you can find somewhere on this forum thread. As for the powers, these are just for starters, I do have more planned when we reach the level that I am creating. In terms of the reveal, I plan to either have it on this level, because of having to tap into the enhanced magic to boost the wind shield, or after the group defeats the boss of my level.hiei82 said:That's a lot of powers... So the basic power structure is that of enhancement - it increases the skills that a person already has (magic, endurance, perception, communication, etc) and adds a scythe summoning (what self-respecting grim reaper DOESN'T have a scythe?)
Hm... that's far less abusable than I was expecting (well, except teleportation - that's ALWAYS overpowered *starts laughing manically*)
The next question would be do you want to reveal the reaper thing to everyone or just some of the group?

I know you gave a description, I just can't help but see that image. Heck, I even planned at one point, for Faunra being the first to know, then others finding out later. But that would be a little tricky.
What would people think would be best?
On an unrelated note, after we end the ice shard storm, could we possibly have it snowing again?
Sure, don't see why not. Oh and go with what Hiei suggested:Evrant said:On an unrelated note, after we end the ice shard storm, could we possibly have it snowing again?

Okay then, regardless of where I choose to reveal; can we not have the rest of the group instantly get angry at him.TheNaut131 said:Sure, don't see why not. Sure, I don't see the group would get mad at him anyway. It'd just be another part to this strange group of travelers.Evrant said:Okay then, regardless of where I choose to reveal; can we not have the rest of the group instantly get angry at him.TheNaut131 said:Sure, don't see why not. How could we implement it, if I chose to do it now with the wind shield? Just asking for people's opinions. Could be that he goes Reaper to save someone/s.
Cool, that does sound like a good idea. We'll go with that then. Anything we should know first?TheNaut131 said:Sure, I don't see the group would get mad at him anyway. It'd just be another part to this strange group of travelers.
As for implementation...Well, I do have this cool picture saved that mainly involves Faunra and one of the dragon guys I was talking about earlier in the game thread. That seems like like a good place to introduce Aleister's reaper form.
Seconded - I don't think the power in and of itself will cause anger, only if you abuse it.TheNaut131 said:Sure, I don't see the group would get mad at him anyway. It'd just be another part to this strange group of travelers.
Sounds like a good plan - anything I should know as well?Evrant said:Cool, that does sound like a good idea. We'll go with that then.
