The first trailer to the sequel of 'cult' hit The Host has arrived. It was a horror film from South Korea and it was rather well-received and is known as one of the better monster films of this generation, or so I've heard. I saw it when I was rather young and so it completely terrified me. A few years later, I am completely desensitized to the monster itself but nothing can take away the fear for your loved ones as I soon realized watching this trailer. It didn't have me at the edge of my seat but it still managed to be suspenseful. I can't really sympathize for people I don't know anything about but they're still people.

What are your thoughts? There are rumours that there will be more of them a-la Aliens which I can't write off as a bad thing.

I kinda liked the first one, though I have to admit I skipped most of it, so I'll just end up watching it on netflix or something. xD Can't deny something without giving it a try first.

I originally thought you meant "The Host" as in the new movie made by the creator of Twilight. Cringed in my seat.

Hmmm, maybe I should make it more obvious. I wouldn't want people thinking this is about a Stephanie Meyer film xD.

Cool. Been a while since I heard anything from the sequel. I remembered they announced it a while back.

I really enjoyed the original, even though it got a bit melodramatic at times. Hopefully they fix that.

Loved the first one. Actually want to rewatch it now. Wonder if the sequel will retain some of its super dark humour

The first movie was the only monster film I've seen where "Token Black Guy" was replaced with "Token White Tourist".

I kinda liked that. And it was rather hilarious when all the people crammed into one mobile home with the monster and somehow were not bursting through the house frame.

*sigh of relief*

You know for a moment, I thought the OP found a trailer for the film adaptation to Stephanie Meyer's "The Host" and mistook it for the Korean monster movie sequel. Thank god it was just me.

I like the first film (eventhought everyone were an arse for not believing the family and accusing them to be dangerous for supposely carrying some deadly virus from that mutate fish).
From the look of it, it look promising.

I didn't know it was called "The Host" in English. I watched it while I was in Korea and always have known it as Gwoemul.

I have to ask, is sequel necessary? Is there a room for one? Why not just make another monster movie with different title?

I really enjoyed the first one, it was one of my favorite monster movies.

I can't say I really LOVE the idea of a sequal though because...

There was only one creature in the first movie, that creature was a freak mutation, so even if there was a second it would be unlikely that they would look the same. And if it is the same creature, that would kind of ruin the ending of the first movie, since the creature obviously died.
