What are the truest lyrics you've heard lately?
Lately? Oh, it's gotta be this.

Not going to write all those lyrics out, but I think this song highlights an important and ever-increasing social problem which is very often swept under the carpet...

"Forget the freak, you're just nature"- Omega by Stone Sour

That whole song is full of great lines.
Quoted for truth, big time.

Failing that, these:

HailtotheKing said:
"When I die will they remember not what I did or what I haven't done? It's not the end that I fear with each breath, it's life that scares me to death."

- "Rumors of My Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated", Rise Against

"Future's uncertain and the end is always near" - Roadhouse Blues by The Doors.
Song itself doesn't have any greater meaning, but this line serves as good excuse for bad decisions.

Definitly The Suburbs (continued) by Arcade Fire.

If I could have it back
All the time that we wasted I would only waste it again
If I could have it back
You know I would love to waste it again
Waste it again again again
But I forgot to ask
Sometimes I can't believe it
I'm moving past the feeling again

To go with the song that's just ended:

Here's To Life by Streetlight Manifesto: "I draw the line at suicide." and "I can't help agreeing with those that would not quit." I have pretty strong views on suicide and self-harming.

To go with the song that playing now, The Death Of John Smith by NOFX: "Hey, We're NOFX." Definitely the Truest lyrcis ever lol.

And now for the next song that's come on which I guess ties in nicely with the Streetlight lyrics. Mary Fucking Kelly by Phinius Gage: "I can't help you if you can't help yourself."

Disturbed's lyrics are always good

Songs about nazis and the holocaust, suicide, the bush administration, corporate greed and how we are destroying the planet. definitely deeper than your average pop song

Why don't you listen to me when I try to talk to you
Stop thinking of yourself for just a second, fool
Shut up, shut up, I don't wanna hear your mouth
Your mother made a monster, now get the hell out of my house

Can't stand it for another day
I ain't gonna live my life this way
Cold sweat, my fists are clenching
Stomp, stomp, stomp the idiot convention

Which one of these words don't you understand
I'm caught in a mosh
Talking to you is like clapping with one hand

Caught in a mosh - Anthrax

It's about people refusing to see the other side of the argument.

The devil will find work for idle hands to do
I stole and I lied, and why?
Because you asked me to
But now you make me feel so ashamed
Because I've only got two hands
Well, I'm still fond of you

And when I finish struggling
We can make our way to the dance floor and stand like strangers
In an elevator stuck between stories
I always find myself, in the middle of your stories.

Well it's all right, riding around in the breeze
Well it's all right, if you live the life you please
Well it's all right, doing the best you can
Well it's all right, as long as you lend a hand

You can sit around and wait for the phone to ring (End of the Line)
Waiting for someone to tell you everything (End of the Line)
Sit around and wonder what tomorrow will bring (End of the Line)
Maybe a diamond ring

Well it's all right, even if they say you're wrong
Well it's all right, sometimes you gotta be strong
Well it's all right, As long as you got somewhere to lay
Well it's all right, everyday is Judgment Day

Maybe somewhere down the road aways (End of the Line)
You'll think of me, wonder where I am these days (End of the Line)
Maybe somewhere down the road when somebody plays (End of the Line)
Purple haze

Well it's all right, even when push comes to shove
Well it's all right, if you got someone to love
Well it's all right, everything'll work out fine
Well it's all right, we're going to the end of the line

Don't have to be ashamed of the car I drive (End of the Line)
I'm glad to be here, happy to be alive (End of the Line)
It don't matter if you're by my side (End of the Line)
I'm satisfied

Well it's all right, even if you're old and gray
Well it's all right, you still got something to say
Well it's all right, remember to live and let live
Well it's all right, the best you can do is forgive

Well it's all right, riding around in the breeze
Well it's all right, if you live the life you please
Well it's all right, even if the sun don't shine
Well it's all right, we're going to the end of the line

Truer words have yet to be spoken.

You put the lime in the coconut and drink them both together.

It really does cure bellyaches! That stupid lady in the song just wasn't paying attention.

What are the truest lyrics you've heard lately? Pretty simple thread, if you ask me.
Music threads are common for me, heh.

For me, it's "And we all float on..." - Float On, Modest Mouse.

(Bet you all were expecting something metal, if you've read any of my previous music-based threads, weren't you?)
You sir should put your palm right here.

I love that song.

I agree completely,

Alright already we'll all float on.
Alright already we'll all float on.
Alright don't worry even if things end up a bit too heavy.
We'll all float on...alright. Already we'll all float on.
Alright already we'll all float on, ok.
Don't worry we'll all float on.
Even if things get heavy, we'll all float on.

EDIT:Watching the Running Man reminds me of these lines.

I won't tell you that I love you,
Kiss or hug you,
'Cause I'm bluffin' with my muffin.
I'm not lyin',
I'm just stunnin' with my love-glue gunnin'

Okay, no. I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. But it's serious answer time now, folks. What comes to mind is this;

Don't you know,
They're talkin' 'bout a revolution
It sounds like a whisper.

While they?re standing in the welfare lines,
Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation,
Wasting time in the unemployment lines,
Sitting around waiting for a promotion.

Poor people are gonna rise up
And get their share.
Poor people are gonna rise up
And take what?s theirs.

Finally, the tables are starting to turn.
