Meeting my ex boyfriend. Yeah, we're not together anymore but he`s enriched my life so much. We're still inseparable. He is honestly the most decent person I've ever met and helped me though the toughest times in my life and given my the courage to help him through his.

I have poor short term memory. I remember 1994 like it was yesterday, but I've shut out most of the happy & unhappy memories of the past decade.

The best things that COULD ever happen to me:

*Free college.
*Win money prize to pay off Sallie Mae = Credit score slate wiped clean.
*Get a good paying job within walking distance of my house.
*Seattle opens up an ASPCA. I get a job as an animal cop.
*A gorgeous Japanese rockstar marries me for my cooking & doesn't want kids.
*I get to buy the rights to some culturally popular fictional character & decide how it's characterized, interprated, evolved, & marketed in all forms of media.

My sister had her first child today...and holding a brand new life in your arms....it's something else. And, while wonderful also a slightly mixed bag because it cranked my maternal instincts up to 11, and I know people are going to start looking pointedly at me for children next.

The first one was the day I met my awesome best friend. I was the new kid at a private christian academy and I had already been thoroughly harassed my many of the people there. I was sitting in the library, trying to avoid the lunch room and my cousin, who was a high school student here. A girl walks into the library and sees me sitting in the corner of the room, doodling in a sketchbook. She walks over to me and pokes me a couple of times in my shoulder, before I get agitated and slap her hand away. She leaves me alone after the fist couple of slaps and I ignore her presence. The next day, I go to the lunch room and get noogied by my cousin. He gets away with it cause he's a wrestler. I sit at a table by myself until the girl from the day before comes over and offers to let me sit with her. I accept the offer...and everything after that is ancient history...and we're still best friends to this very day.

Okay, that is just plain adorable.

Faith in humanity +1 or something.

We are still abuse each other. She poke me, I'll slap her, and then a mini-war will break out in the kitchen. My bf and her mom watch with great amusement and sometimes play referee. But she's like my sister and I would do anything for her. You know that saying, "Break her heart and I'll break your face."? That saying applies to us tenfold.
