Not only that, the clouds are just the bushes with a pallet swap.

The mind fuck continues....
Oh, fuck you.
I was gonna say that.

But, did you all notice in Super Mario 3 or whatever, that it was just a play?
The blocks bolted to the background, things held up with ropes, parts of the background cut out to stick the moving platforms through, and so on.
Hell, it starts with a curtain going up.
Mario was in no real danger.

Seriously, it makes perfect sense.
"Making sense" in a universe where walking over flowers doubles your body size, changes instantly the color of your clothes and makes you shoot fireballs is hardly a reliable notion.

Not to mention the floating boxes o_O
*runs away scared*

(if you played the underground levels of the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R., you know why I'm scared of floating boxes :D)

Fuck, there goes my childhood.
In all seriousness, I always knew he hit it with his hand, but I didn't really care because the prospect of head hitting was funnier.

... Touche. :p

Okay, it only makes sense when you hit the blocks. Everything else is debatable.

I'll never accept this as the truth.

I say that he does hit it with his head but raises his hand up so that when you beat a koopa kid you catch the wand. The animation team was just too lazy to give him separate jump sprites.

I really hope im not the only one who jumped to catch the wand or i'll look really silly

OH MY GOD! This is bigger than the Da Vinci Code, Area 51, and the Bigfoot-Loch Ness love baby combined.

I knew about the fist thing because if you think about it. Mario wasn't busting bricks with his head when he went 3D so he must have been using his fist all along.

Well that completely discredits the theory of "mario must have severe braindamage" that's one less thing to not worry myself over

Technically, Mario's hand directly under the block is the third frame after actually hitting it. The first frame has his hand halfway in the block.
