Start singing a David Bowie tune. The first one to start dancing, kick in the nads and then take the other door. I'd kick the other guard in the nads for good measure also. Can never be too careful.

I will ask the one gaurd if he was chuck norris and if he said yes thats heaven
But what if it was the guard to hell, then he would lie and say he was. Then you're screwed.
No because then the real chuck norris would kick his arse
But Chuck Norris wouldn't be there because he never dies.

Ask either of the guards "Which door would the other guard say to go through?" Then choose the other door.

you ask one guard how many doors there are.
if he answers 2, you ask the other one which is the door to hell, and go through the other door. the first guard told you the truth about how many doors there are, and the second told which door doesn't go to hell
if the first guard lies, you ask the other one which door goes to heaven, and go through the one he indicates. in this case the first guard was lying, so the second guard must tell the truth about which door is which. if he tells you one door goes to heaven, then it must

I would ask "Am I holding a pink elephant in my right hand at this moment?" while I clearly showed them that my right hand is empty...

this is far from the The Ultimate Logical Puzzle.
most people have heard it once in they'r lives.
this one is much better:

there are 5 pirates and 100 gold coins.
the 5 must divide the coins amongst them as they see fit.

the rules are simple.
1) one pirate choses how to divide the coins.
2) if the majority agrees, the coins are given and they walk away.(in case of a 50%/50%
split, it counts as a if they agreed on the division of coins)
3) if they do not agree, the pirate who divided the coins is killed and tossed away,
the coins are passed to the next in the chain of command and he must chose how to divide the coins(same rules apply to him as well).
4) each pirate is naturally trying to get as much coins as he possibly can.
5) the pirates are all really MIT grads, there for uber smart and will most likely find a way to do this without the needless killing of the captain of the "SS nerd herd" (in other words, the first pirate should be smart enough to divide the cash without dying if such a case is possible, if not the kill him as you see fit).

and lastly. the chain of command is known in advance. there for when a pirate kicks the bucket the next in line to get the gold. is the next in the chain of command.(as in not just a random other pirate, they all know who is the next to get the gold).

and don't forget. all the rules apply to who ever hes the gold. so you can kill every one other then the last two.(unless they both disagree on the split, and thats just retarded)
Interesting. I'm betting on the captain getting 48 and the next two getting 26 each. Captain agrees and the next two agree knowing they got more than an even split and if they don't vote to accept they will be killed by the last 2 anyway.

Edit: Checked the answer and I'm wrong. Didn't think it through well enough.

Actually the riddle goes that one always tells a lie and the other always tells the truth, you don't know if it's heaven or hell though. Sorry just nitpicking, I have OCD in that field... but yeah what everyone said.

The first takes 98, third 1 and fifth 1.

The first pirate gives the 4th and 5th pirates 50 gold each.

The way that the question is worded makes it nigh on impossible for the first pirate to get any gold, so his only goal is to escape with his life. The best way for him to do that is to get a majority agreement vote. Because the last two will both get half even if they disagree, their maximum possible gold is 50 coins apiece. Give them this at the beginning and 3 of the 5 are happy, and nobody dies.

You could give the 2nd and 3rd pirates 50 gold apiece, so there'd still be a 50/50 split (2 for, 2 against) but then you'd have to kill the first pirate.

See if you can get the answer! Not many people have got this right. Can you?

There are two identical doors, one leads to Heaven, one leads to Hell. In front of each door, there is an identical guard.

You can only ask one question, to figure out which door leads to Heaven.

Small bit of information:
The one guarding Heaven always tells the truth, and the one guarding Hell always lies.

The question you ask must involve the doors or the guards.
e.g. you could not hold up a cat and ask one if it is a dog!

If no-one gets the answer after 3 days i will post it!
You ask "What would the truthful guard say if I asked him if he was guarding the door to heaven?" The truthful guard would say "I guard the door to heaven" while the lying guard would say "I guard to door to hell"

Wrong. The fifth pirate can never expect to get more then one gold. Therefore your solution is not optimal for the the first pirate.

Also the second pirate will never accept unless he gets 99 or more.
