You may find it not so, but I on the other hand
Easily can find reason to have a thread specifically for it.
Such a grand RTS, we have not seen in decades.

In addition, The Escapist has been crazy about it.
Not since Mass Effect 2 have I seen this kind of community love.
Debatably, it is one of the biggest PC releases in the past decade.
Even if you aren't a PC gamer, a lot of people here are.
Everyone who is one, has a reason to talk about it.
Definitely will be one of my top picks for GOTY.

Just because it's well anticipated, doesnt mean it's going to be like the second coming of jesus or something.

That isn't the point, we get a lot of "double" threads on these big releases, this is an effort to curb that, otherwise the first page is normally full of "whats your load out?", people wont get told off for it since they are excited and you can't curb enthusiasm.

We need a reverse Godwins Law, where people liken something to Jesus instead of Nazi's.

Well, I really liked SC1, and I liked the beta of SC2. The question is, I'm more of a single player kinda guy, is there enough content to justify it's purchase?

Personally, I wholeheartedly believe the singleplayer campaign alone is worth the full price. It's just incredible and I love playing through it and hearing the story and messing with all the little things strewn about the Hyperion. It's massive. They did NOT skimp out on the campaign at all.

Also to that other guy, who said StarCraft 2 wasn't the second coming of Jesus?

Not really, it's a good game, but the nostalgia and the fanboys make it out out be more then it is.

I'm going to go ahead and do a counter point to this.
The singleplayer felt unfinished, the story is horribly incomplete, and I mean just the Terran part that should have been done(since this is the only game you play as them in). Other then that it's a good game if you liked StarCraft 1.

I should also mention that I'm more of a, I guess you could call "Macro" player, and I love having nice, long missions where I can play at my own pace, spend hours if I want to creating a nice, big, metaphorical "Fuck you" kind of army, the one that absolutely wipes out everything in it's path. Perhaps get periodically attacked or something, but I despise time limits and I despise escort missions, as well as "Collect these pieces to build this" missions and stealth missions. Attack and Defend missions are simplistic, but that's what I want, and above all, I'm just worried that Blizz might've put in some broken missions to be innovative.

I also worry about hearing a rumor that you have to be connected to battlenet at all times just to play singleplayer, and that has me worried because not only do I travel alot, but when I'm home, my internet is more bipolar then your average teenager.

From the sounds of it, SC2 might not be fitting for you based on your single player preferences alone. There are a couple missions that involve building a huge army and breaking shit, but the vast majority revolve around variety of play style.
