The Unknown Good Bands

Has anyone else noticed that when your just browsing around or at a gig, you hear a band and straight off there usually pretty damn good. Anyone else notice this?

Alabama 3, one of my favourite bands. I wouldn't expect anyone on here to know of them but if they do they earn my respect.

Also Air Traffic, my second favourite band after The Killers. DAMN YOU POP CULTURE MAKING GOOD BANDS UNHEARD!

I think I've said this about Air Traffic to you before but ... yeah they're awesome!

As for me, I think the latest gems I have found are Bar 9 and Young Guns. Both are complete different genres but are deffo worth checking out!

I happen to enjoy bitesize. They're a pretty odd band, and they don't get out much anymore. I believe that the best way to describe them is like Radio Disney with F bombs.

Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad. those guys are great. The Sword isnt very well known either but they have a little bit of popularity

I'd just recommend the same band I recommend everywhere - Rootwater. Found them totally by accident while browsing an MP3 site (legal, if you want to know), that was their demo. Been with them ever since (3 studio albums + one with remixes), and I seriously think they need more international recognition.

Found a few other good and little-known bands while browsing (Northland and Totem - the Polish one, not the Russian one), but most have a reason for not being popular - they're just not very good.

I'm not much of a gig goer, although my interest in some bands which I already knew was stimulated or re-ignited by seeing them live.

Other than that, here in Poland we have a radio host (on one of the most popular stations out there), who pulls out some totally obscure band pretty much once every 15 minutes. Often they are quite popular where they come from and just unknown in Poland, but it's still something you only get to hear on the radio this single time.

Nah, I just friend anyone who likes bands I like - half my friends are only so because they like The Killers

Yves Klein Blue. They're apparently big in Australia, but here in the UK they're pretty unknown. They were supporting Reverend and the Makers on their UK tour, I went to see the Makers play Monday night at my university and Yves Klein Blue were one f the support acts then. They were pretty damn awesome, and the crowd loved them too, they were really getting into the atmosphere and on the whole it was just a great night Brilliant band, and as I say, pretty unknown in the UK.
