Handguns are not that useless.
Lone wolves IRL= corpses.
Once shot, you will not me sprinting, or even moving for that matter. You will crumple and collapse.

I thought the whole point of a traditional FPS was to ignore reality. Hence the running into a storm of bullets and chainsawing an imp to death...

I'm just waiting for MW3's Akimbo bolt-action sniper rifles.
If they did that, would they have to have the bolt pulled back through Francis's method? http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comics/stolen-pixels/6018-Stolen-Pixels-86-Left-4-Dumb-Part-8

Not to nitpick but.

1. The FN FAL is a selective fire rifle, this makes it fully automatic (I thinks)
Selective fire means the weapon can be set to semi-auto, burst or auto. And there are indeed some automatic variants of the FAL

4. It would be impossible to fire a Javelin from a standing position without your spine curling over from the kickback.
The Javelin is a recoiless rifle, it doesn't have kickback, it has backblast, which is very different.

5. The Glock 18 isn't a machine pistol
Actually, it is.

Anyway, another strange thing in MW2 is how the F2000 is less accurate and less powerful than the conventional assault rifles. A bullup weapon with the same length as a conventional weapon (which I believe is the case with the F2000) will have a longer barrel due to the position of the magazine and action. And a longer barrel will generally translate into more stopping power and accuracy.

I can understand, and even stand behind, compromising realism for balance, but it's like they deliberately went out of their way to get things wrong.

In a real warzone sprinting around like a lunatic with a knife will get you very dead very quickly

Just out of curiosity, where does it claim to be the most realistic fps? i've never heard that anywhere but here.

And for the record, all of the things you judge as unrealistic are only unrealistic if you assume the soldiers/terrorists you're playing as aren't trained ninjas (not talking bout the ninja perk).

I'll save comments on the realism vs arcade for another time.

I'm surprised no one had mentioned an extremely obvious one. When you reload a 1/2 full magazine, your bullets don't magically enter a holding space. You either leave a 1/2 empty magazine on the ground or you wait until you have time to feed more bullets into it to top it off, not a very fast process.

I don't get this topic. Why are trying to "prove" that MW2, a game which has to pretensions to realism, is unrealistic? I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be realistic, nor is it trying to be.

In other news, chainsaw guns would never work, no one can survive the kind of falls Nathan Drakes makes 20 times an HOUR, and Kratos. Just Kratos.

Random Soldier: "Colonel, XxNinjaPwnxX just killed 25 insurgents and has yet to die!"

'The Colonel': "Hmmm...this boy is good...he's a hero! His whole squad is the best we have ever seen! they will win this war for sure!!!

...Launch the nuke...kill 'em all...lets grab a coffee"

Never mind the UAV, what's a B-2 Spirit bomber doing flying at 1,000 feet above the map? It's hardly a stealth bomber if you see and hear it coming.

There was a webcomic called gamerunrest I think. I wish I had the link for you, but there was a great part where someone is playing MW2 with Sir Isaac Newton, who complains that he couldn't have gotten sniped in the head because the sniper was standing X meters away with his gun Y meters from the ground while the bullet was traveling at a velocity of Z etc etc etc.
My opinion: Isacc Newton is the best game webcomic character ever.

how come both teams have an infinite amount of nukes, yet don't launch them till someone kills about 25 people?

Well your friend is a bit of an idiot if he thinks that.

OT: End of the day, it's a video game multiplayer mode, stuff has to be balanced out like the Throwing knife range - It has to be there or the game would be even harder to play online.

Might as well make a submission. Cold Blooded perk...Is it even possible?

depends, how long has you soldier been a zombie?

Your soldier always carrys a laptop and a yellow detonater. So why don't call in stuff at the beginning of the game. Real soldiers don't take risks.

On the other hand IRL they don't setup a whole AC-130 for 6 to 8 enemys

The M4 and M16 Both fire 5.56mm NATO, Thus they should have close to the same damage, same for the Famas. Also, I'd Like to see you sprint around with an assault rifle and a Barret .50 your back, at the same pace as you would with an MP5 and a pistol.
