Don't see that in the news do ya? http://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2011/11/17/us-debt-hits-15-trillion-will-super-committee-save-us/

Not to mention the Occupy Protests getting increasingly...extreme. Anyone else on this site who doesn't faithfully watch mainstream media and actually seeks real news?

Not surprising... the US is just making a deeper and deeper economic black hole.

I read several online newspapers across the poltical spectrum plus some more fringe websites, if that counts...

I see the future, and it is the end of America's dominance.

At least we can rest assured the country won't die or anything, just fade to a lower level on the world stage. Plus, that mean's China is next, though that'll take a bit.

Are we having another revolution soon? That would be cool. I'll stay somewhere in Britain until it all blows over, loads of fun.

If this was in Tropico 4 there would have been a revolution already. But it's not.

Not like it will matter when winter comes and the whitewalkers start raping our churches and burning down our women.

Get unemployment down and a lot of the deficit will solve itself. End corporate welfare & end the wars, and we're even further along the path. You're focusing on the problem, not the solution.

Don't worry. Instead of paying off their debt they can apparently continually pass laws to allow greater debt...kind of like how banks continually let the common folk miss house payments without repercussion.

Seriously though, you've gotta wonder how bad the debt will go before countries start demanding their money back. I thought we'd have already hit that threshold but I guess that means people have more faith in the U.S than I do.

Well, even if it does collapse, it's not really going to be the end of the world is it? Yeah, things collapse, but the people it really affected usually get around to rebuilding it. This economic bull pucky used to always scare me half to tears, but now it just doesn't seem to really affect me anymore. Things always have a way of working themselves out overtime if enough people dedicate themselves to figuring out the problem. And with so much censorship and secrets that the government intentionally keeps from us, who's to say what is fact and what is utter bull crap?

Of course it won't go well. That's what makes it interesting. Although maybe it's better to get around to building my secret volcano lair and I can just take it all over once it's weakened.

I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free...
Is it any wonder that most Americans hate politicians? I swear if the other boat was politicians instead of criminals in The Dark Knight, they would have blown that fucker up. And the audience would have cheered!

I honestly don't think it is as bad as it seems, and I certainly don't think China is the "next big superpower". The U.S. may be in a lot of debt, but the U.S. also has a GDP of about 15 trillion a year. Only about 3 and a half of that actually goes to the government, but that is still a significant amount of cash flow. Also, China is just going through a baby boomer phase right now and have a very weak higher education system, so it will be a while before they get anywhere.
