The S.978 bill from a few months back has returned and is even worse than before.
The link mentioned is below.

Yep I already signed a petition against this, I don't get why the government is so stupid when it comes to anything involving the internet and digital media... They should just stop.

This is nowhere near the first time this has happened, and none of the previous attempts have succeeded. I doubt this one will succeed as well.

So, government, try your worse and fail again.

I wasn't even aware about the first bill, where the hell did this come from? This is so stupid.

Anyway, look, the first amendment should shoot this down easily so I wouldn't worry about this too much.

I'm a Britlander so I don't have to worry just yet but it'd probably catch on here too :/.

Although I imagine it'd fail, the US constitution isn't likely to be the thing that stops it.

Not trying to start anything, but all u have to do is look at it from the Conservative side. All the government and Democrats want is "to control" the populace. Wheres this particular petition at? I'll sign it too.

I sign anything if its against government control and more for freedom.

If you're trying to decide whether this is hyped up or not and whether you should spend your precious effort on it, you're knotting your panties over nothing. I can see no reason why anyone here would want to support the bill, and fighting it via petition seriously takes twenty seconds. The demandprogress link in the OP pretty much automates the "send a letter to your congressman!" thing after you've put your name and email on it.

Your saying the Government who can't even fix their own shit is going to regulate something as vast as the internet. Good luck.

To be honest, and this is no joke, the easiest one is freebieber.org, cause he is the one that will be most effected by this, since he made profits from singing a copyrighted song on youtube, I don't support him just the petition.
