Pokemon Blue. I started out playing games like Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World on the SNES, but when I got a Gameboy Colour and Pokemon Blue, my fate was decided.

My friend owned this Game & Watch. I remember going on a trip with his family and all I did was ignore them and play that for hours. Your real name is not Eddie is it? That would be funny.

When it was time for my family holidays I just played this -

And it's not just a calculator, there's an actual game on it where you have to match the numbers and symbols before they hit the end of the screen. Cutting edge stuff.
As funny as it would if I was, I'm not Eddie.

Raiden Project back in the PS1 era.

I was like, 2 or 3 at the time and it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. It garnered my interest in gaming and got me into discovering other games such as Crash Bandicoot, Sonic the Hedgehog, Spyro the Dragon, and when the PS2 came out, Jak 'n' Daxter.

I'm preeeetty sure it was Pac-Man that gave me the push.
Sonic the Hedgehog was what really got me going though.

Baldur's Gate.

My sister used to play it and I'd watch... one day when my old man was on the computer and the spare one was available I gave it a go, and now days I'm a gamer.

I miss the 90's :(

Super Mario Sunshine. That's right. Super. Mario. Sunshine. I love that game. Then I went back to the previous generations.

Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) for the Genesis. First ever game I played, and the one that set the chains of events that made me love gaming and want to be a Computer Software Engineer.

Halo 2 for Xbox. I had been gaming for a good 6 years before, but only on Nintendo Gamecube and on the Gameboy Advance. I wasn't really a "gamer", just someone who occasionally played games. My next door neighbour however, assured me that a I had not played a truly amazing game: Halo 2. He lent me his Xbox with Halo 2 and I played the campaign over a 2 day weekend. I was unbelievably amazing. I had never seen such good graphics, never held such a great controller, and never really played a "modern shooter" before (other than CoD3 on my PS2 but I still played that casually). It was the only reason I even bought a 360 in the first place (although I still bought the Wii first). SO thanks Bungie, thank you for inspiring me to become a gamer.

Being a relatively young "gamer", 15, my first game was either Chrono Trigger. I played both religiously. I would travel around Hyrule for hours just looking at the scenery.
EDIT: or Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

I always say that Zelda:OoT made me into the gamer I am today, but the first initial sparks that set it off came from Super Mario Bros. 3 and later the Sega Genesis Sonic games. I still play them all on occasion when I feel a nostalgia attack... and still can't beat Mario 3. :(

Yoshi's Story was an average game now, but when I was a kid, it was addicting to me. This was when I got a new N64 a long time ago now.
