For those that haven't seen it, an article has been published interviewing The Fine Young Capitalists.

For those that don't know it, it's a group which allows women with zero video game creation experience to pitch and create games. Why have we only heard about it through the #GamerGate controversy though?

I am no way saying their word is any more valid than another side, but to inform yourself from both sides of the table can only provide further insight.

Personally, it saddens me how they got shot down by news sites because of what Zoe Quinn said about them and her doxxing and harassment. I believe these are the people we should be supporting if we want more women in gaming, not the people who can only criticise what has been made.

Don't shoot down what there is and call it bad. Make something better and prove it that better can be done.

Happy Gaming,
Finn

P.S. Damn captcha rick-rolled me -_-

Ah! I was about to post this when I discovered that you did.

I can say that I feel that they are by far the most level headed and the most wronged of anyone in this whole situation. I cant have too much faith in everyone in gamergate anymore than I can zoe supporters but I can put all of my faith(and also 5 bucks ) To TFYC for being so goddamn honest and frank whilst everyone has a damn twitter war.

Hmm. This is the first I'm hearing of TFYC. Thank you for bringing more awareness to this interview and program. I like the sound of what they're doing and admire their willingness to sit down and discuss things. Now if only I had some money to donate to their cause... Some day soon, perhaps.

They have been a big point in this whole current controversy, since they were doxxed and basically shamed down by the 'Media Press'. This shame came from someone who decided that they did not like it and called it 'Transphobic', then spread it around their group to make sure it got a bad image. That same person then tried to immediately set up a game jam that had no date, no info, no board, and all of the money went to their personal paypal.

So yeah, the #gamergate group has been pushing for more donations so that they can get going.

Only a few weeks ago it was barely at 5k.

Oh. I didn't realize they were that central to the mess that's been going on. I did read about the doxxing and Zoe Quinn's alleged involvement in TFYC's recent efforts and projects in the interview linked above. College has been an excellent distraction for me through this whole ordeal so I only ever heard surface issues, like how it started, the YouTube personality backlash/support, flame wars over gender politics and representation in interactive media, the "demand" for a higher standard of games journalism, etc. Regardless, I'm glad they're getting more support and regret my lack of funding to assist them.
