The first episode of the new Walking Dead series came out this week and I wanted to see if anyone else has seen it and/or reads the comics?
Yeah the first ep was brillant. Really set the tone up nicely.BenzSmoke said:I saw the show. I thought it was really good actually. I haven't read the comics though.
The comic definitely doesn't have a problem with getting killing off characters. It'll be interesting to see if they TV series continues this trend.Quiet Stranger said:I wish I could find a stream of it online cause I don't have AMC but I do read the comics and I have to say, THE BEST zombie comic ever!!! Every turn of the page I have no idea what's gonna happen next and I'm ALWAYS on the edge of my seat!!! You really fall in love with the characters.....and then they die!
Have you seen any of the other episodes?Snake Plissken said:I was lucky enough to see a private not-for-broadcast version of the episode on the Wednesday before it came out. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and I also enjoy the comic series. Here's a decent article on it.

28 Days Later wasn't completely original. The rest of the episodes won't be anything like it because he'll meet up with the rest of the survivors.The66Monkey said:yea some dude on 4chan streamed the 1st episode about a week ago. I thought the comic was ok, the tv series seams ok but I would have preferred if they made WWZ.

Wow that was the worst post this year.
Ok let me expand. When i read the comic i was like "hey this is a little like 28 days" when i watched the tv series i was like "hey this is a lot like 28 days". The comic was actually good but im not sure it needs to be made into a TV series. If they allow them-self a few liberties with the story i think it might be interesting (I think they have to anyways because half of the stuff in the comic America would throw a hissy fit about if it was shown on tv)
I can't wait to see those sorts of things in the TV series. It'll be interesting how far they go. The prison scenes will be amazingly horrific if they do them.The66Monkey said:Oh i know, the first time i saw 28 days i thought "hey day of the triffids but with zombies". But it can not be denied that even if 28 days was not 100% original content (like Star Wars or Indiana Jones) it still put some trends into modern cinema. Now when he meets up with the other survivors is where the series gets intresting....viperthejedi said:28 Days Later wasn't completely original. SPOILER
... I want to see the little kid shot the deputy (but he didn't shoot the sheriff). That will be a defining moment for the series seeing how dark they are prepared to go. It can not be denied that the comic had some horrific scenes (prison) and i wonder how these will translate into film.
Definitely get on it. The show is amazing.katsumoto03 said:I haven't seen the show yet, but I'm a huge fan of the comics.
