First of I must say that I am not a hater of the show, the opposite, I really like the show and I am waiting for the 3rd Season on November.
Maybe in the old days I was somehow skeptical about this cartoon show cause I didn't watched at first, but now I am alright and I must never judge somehow before I try it myself.
So please, hear my reason why I believe this and let have a normal discussion, ok? Good!!!
With that said, lets talk about what is the "20% Cooler" Meme:

The line ?It needs to be about 20% cooler? was spoken by the character Rainbow Dash during episode 14, ?Suited For Success?.[12] It is occasionally used as an insult or as simple advice towards something, claiming it needs to be improved. But it is also used to express approval towards something. 20% Cooler can also often be found back in fanworks as a sign of improval or as a factor for one?s opinion.
With that description in mind, sure, it sound very cool [yeah, I know, I know, too soon] and it can be used for this specific reason.
HOWEVER, for a fan of this TV series and having had seen this specific episode, this Meme make no sense to exist at all! This Meme is a lie!!!
Because the whole point of this specific episode is Even Rainbow Dash though her own take for her dress was "20% cooler", SHE WAS WRONG!!!
The whole concept about something your believe is cool and you ignore the opinion of the others, IS THE MAIN LESSON the heroes learn in this episode. To trust others peoples [or ponies, yeah] opinions not only yours.
So in my opinion this whole 20 cooler meme is a big,fat lie! The fans of the series use this meme wrong!!! Because the real idea behind this meme is you maybe is your opinion and you think is cooler like that, but maybe you are wrong. Maybe the other people [ponies] think is stupid idea. That why you need a second opinion about this, and it will be even better if the opinion come from a proffecional or someone that know about this subject [in this episode, Rarity].
Finally, I find this ironic cause this meme actually represent the bad part of MLP series or even other franchises:
If a Hardcore/Bad fan of MLP post a picture of the "20% Cooler" Meme and want to make you to watch the show using a wrong way [annoying you the whole time and insulting you], the other that will see this meme, without knowing the meaning of this, he/she will thing without second though how stupid it is!!!
The same goes for the other franchises as I said already.
So, with that said, what do you believe?
