No, this isn't a Wii joke. This is the question of Why. In a game, there is sometimes a thing. What it is may vary, but you will sit there and go "Why is that thing there? I mean, really, what's the point?".

I remembered this sort of question when I saw someone's Mega Bomberman avatar, of one of the special-powered mounts in the game. Its power is - in a game where they will kick, go super speedy, jump over blocks, and so on - to dance. The dance is like the goggles. It does nothing. Why is it in there?

And what are YOUR "Why is it in there?" moments in games?

Bao Sanniang.

Why is she in Dynasty Warriors 7!?

Or even better; why is she there instead of Zuo Ci?

In BF3 you can attach a flashlight to a sniper rifle.

The flashlight is good for two things. Blinding people at close range and revealing your position at long range.

Think about it.

Worst part is, some people actually use it.

DMC3 - Guard stance.

I NEVER found it useful.
if used correctly its probably more powerfull then the other three.
OT: red dead redemption never when i played it did i think that the freeroaming was fun or necesary it was only tedious and i hate missions it had to be a specific time for, also carma/honor when playing evil the story made no sence since it didnt change at all so there is no need what so ever for a karma system.

Skyrim - Most non-combat, non-crafting Perks. All they do is give you more money in some way, and there's too much money already.

League of Legends - Tiamat

Mass Effect 2 - Shockwave, Pull, Push on anything above Nomal difficulty.

Total War games - Peasants

Crowd control?
Barriers, Armor, Shields? Above Normal almost everything is protected and crowd control doesn't work on targets with any kind of protection. By the time you finish stripping the defenses, you might as well just shoot them and finish the job that way.

Assasins creed revelations. Why did they have that tower defense mini game?

Even better why did they have to make that game?

Correction; SMGs in most games.
Few games have them in in their proper role, most just have Assault Rifles that can do the same job better, or shotguns as the best CQC weapons.
The recent Battlefield games are the only ones I can think of that have worthwhile SMGs.

I guess it has it's uses though; the amount of times I've seen a flashlight far off and I can't accurately counter-snipe because of I can't see his head.

OT: x7 Zoom Scopes on Shotguns in BF3.

I love them though, I'd rather have the option than not. Also nice and fun to use at times.

The 1/35 soldier item in FFVII. Why was that there?

I think Square dropped it (and other similar items) in just to see what bizarre and outlandish theories players were capable of coming up with. Turns out, many.

Poo's Mirror move in Earthbound, it's nigh impossible to get it to actually work, the Four might even be dead by the time it does.

I suppose.

I've always just thought of flashlights/laser pointers as 'that glowy thing I aim my machine gun at'.

I agree with the Flashlights on Sniper Rifles in BF3.. that just doesnt make any sense.

Also, any other gun besides a pp90 with silencer in MW3.. as that seems to be the only gun people kill me with

Every Game with Multiplayer.

Online only Acheivements. AAAAARGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH. Multiplayer already has levels, wepon unlocks and so on as unlocks, don't include something that requires a group of people to vote on some map, on a certain game type with a certain wepon.
