Had Wii for two years, shit, longer actually, almost 3? It gets switched on every couple of months when the wife wants to play Mario Kart Wii (which is a laugh, but I far prefer MK 64 on the virtual console).

The 360 however rarely goes more than a couple of days without a session.

Basically I got jaded with wasting my money on average games. I have one of the FPS Metroids and I got so bored I didn't finish it. Resident Evil 4 is fantastic on it but generally I like playing big dramatic blockbuster style games which the Wii just doesn't do.

Not trying to prove anything to anyone, it just feels like a novelty.

_________

The Wii has outsold the 360 and the PS3 enormously but I bet that those two have a higher number of hours played.

The Wii games I have are pretty much one timers or "party" games. Party as in I have my friends physically here, we wanna play something together and are not in the mood to go outside. So yeah, my Wii gathers dust inbetween when I buy a new game for it, or I invite some friends over.

It may be the cheapest console, but it's over-priced and you still get suckered into buying a million controller add-ons; one of which makes the remote do what it should have done to begin with.
Agreed that it should have done that to begin with, but I doubt anyone here has more than two peripherals for the damn thing.

1) A gun shell
2) Wii Motion Plus[/quote]

You mean more than 2 actual Wii remotes or more than 2 add-ons?

Because the Motion Plus is £25 a pop (in Game at least) - £100 for controller add-ons (that should be built in anyway) if you have 4 remotes on a console that costs £180.

In this thread, Wiilitists insist that because a guy doesn't feel like playing his Wii, he's clearly an evil jerk who just wants to be part of the 'in' crowd.

Maybe he just doesn't feel like playing those particular games? Don't attack the man because he doesn't feel like playing his Wii and feels that it's 'useless' right now.

I stopped playing the 360 (I even sold it) because of the Wii stealing the spotlight... that and pc gaming... Steam particularly...

I no longer have a Wii, I now have a Gamecube with Virtual console. You might wonder why, and I wouldn't blame you. It as come to my attention lately, that my Wii suddenly stopped reading Wii discs, well, it always give an error message, and now it don't even recognize the discs. Funny thing, Gamecube games still work seemingly fine. Unless the Wii have 2 reading lens, I'm not sure how that is even possible. I bought another one from a friend for about 80$. Mainly for Brawl since it's the only game I have anyone is willing to play with me more then one time, but also my many other games I enjoy. Still, I'm pretty sure I used it more for the Virtual console then actual releases in general.

other consoles stats edit:
PS3: I don't own one, still got some possible interests in the future.
360: I used it a lot more then the wii before it even broke, mostly for stuff like BlazBlue, castle crashers, yep, stuff nearly no one I know seems to enjoy.
PC: I have a LOT, and without any idling, of hours invested in TF2.

I got my PC and my wii...One for hard gaming the other for multiplayer with mates, guess which is which.
I will not totally nock the wii for all the crap that is out for it and the sure lack of decent third party support there are a decent number of good games I keep coming back to. No more heros, mario, zelda to name a few. I enjoy my wii as i do my pc.
But I have been playing my pc a lot more resently why...cause you cannot play stalker on the wii...I ordered no more heros 2 not so long ago should be able to play that soon.

About the only thing my wii is used for is to play the metroid prime games, some golden oldies from the virtual console, the mario galaxy games and twilight princess, okami and both no more heroes games. I also have the odd on rails shooter (resident evil, hotd). It looks like a lot but it pales in comparison to my 360 games collection. I love the wii only for those niche games, but other than that, it's a waste of time and money. I am not and never will be into all those family titles. I'm just a sucker for nintendo's IP i guess. But then everyone who grew up through the 90's and before probably has too many fond memories of mario and the gang to give them up.

I have a 360, PS3, Wii and a great PC. I play all of them quite a bit, except for the Wii, which I have not turned on to play a game in... well.. a long time. I sampled a bit of Shattered Memories (Silent Hill), but I never completed it.

Now, it's role is a glorified VCR. I have Netflix, and use my PS3 as the main Netflix device. The Wii, I've positioned in my parent's bedroom on their small TV as a "Netflix ready" device. They haven't even used it yet, they just watch TV instead.

In retrospect, it was such an utter waste of money. Like so many, I got suckered into buying all sorts of controller gadgets, thinking I would have so much fun.. but that fun never arrived. It was cool to show off Wii Sports to friends and family, but it was never anything special.

"Wag the remote to throw the ball, isn't that cool?" .. was the entirety of the life of my Wii.

Mine still gets some regular use. Every Friday some buds come over and we Brawl it up with some applied texture mods. Both Galaxies were good co-op games, and the ability to play GC games means my summer of playing through the Paper Mario and Metroid Prime games was done on the Wii. Gamefly is sending me Other M right now, and after that I have Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Skyward Sword, and whatever that new Kid Icarus game was called to wait for, inbetween Shattered Dimensions, New Vegas, Mafia 2, and a small backlog.

Well I couldn't get Galaxy 2 due to exams, so I'll be picking up that next week. Also, when I'm back to college there'll be many a game of Mario Kart or Smash bros. Those games are unparalleled for playing with a bunch of friends in the same room.
Yeah, I think that's why I like it so much. Nintendo seem to be the only people around these days who understand how fun split screen is.
I have lamented the loss of Split-screen, couch-based multiplayer for some time now. There's just something so much more satisfying about turning to them next to you, rubbing it in their face, and getting smacked with a couch pillow.

Haven't touched it since SSBB came out. Poor little thing, sitting there in the corner. I might turn it on when GoldenEye comes out.

Had a Wii, went through a very similar situation to the OP, and ended up selling it. I didn't play the Wii because it just didn't interest me at all, it certainly wasn't out of some silly spite or desire to be one of those supposed "I'm cool because I don't play Wii" people. It was just there and despite my 360 being RROD at the time and my PC not being gaming worthy, I just didn't even think to turn it on.

Jesus, is that how much they were trying to charge for it? GAME are scumbags for sure, I got Red Steel 2 brand new with a motion plus attachment for £30 on Amazon. Anyway, you didn't specify that you meant 4 controllers. Either way it's still not a million attachments, but it would be pricey, probably about £30 more than buying three more 360 or PS3 controllers. Actually that's not that bad...

If you still have it, try getting an official Wii lens cleaner. Metroid Prime Trilogy just refused to work when I got it, and surprisingly the lens cleaner took a fair bit of crap off of the lens.

(im not a msoft fanboy, if I had to give myself that assinine label, id say I was a PC fanboy)

I think Red Steel 2 just came free with it like a remote came free with WiiPlay.

If the wii had a proper controller, I'd play mine more. But, I barely use it and very occasionally will there be a game I buy on it. The last one was Monster Hunter Tri.
Classic Controller Pro bro. Works on a crap load of games.
I know, it came with Monster Hunter Tri. And the controller isn't very ergonomic and I don't like it.

Yeah, on the first page I already admitted that my inability to include that apostrophe was an EPIC FAIL on my part.
