I'm lucky enough to own all three of the current home consoles and whilst the little Wii may have visuals that are a bit 5-years-ago the standard of OST is far above that offered by the more powerful machines.

First one I noticed was No More Heroes, all the music is great but the main theme is one of the best pieces I've heard in a game. The moment at the start where Travis walks down the steps whistling it is genius.

Then there's De Blob - Not just an amazing set of tunes but the way it layers into the levels is just a cut above.

Mushroom Men the Spore Wars has a similarly interactive soundtrack but this one was laid down by Les Claypool and adds an incredible depth to the games murky atmosphere.

Half the tunes in House of the Dead: Overkill are the funkiest thing in VG history, the other half are the funniest...

Finally there's the Bit Trip. games on WiiWare. For my money these are best audio/visual games since Rez and they certainly have the best soundtrack of this type for years.

I like how the Wii can do still be a cool system compared to the very hardcore opposition, i respect it for that.

Hecks yeah, man. There's some great Wii soundtracks out there, like No More Heroes, MadWorld, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (eh, it still counts).

I completely forgot to mention the game that gave me the idea for this post...

I just finished Tenchu: Shadow Assassins and it has the best soundtrack I've ever heard in a game - without exception - I can't state strongly enough just how fantastic every tune is.

Mario Galaxy has the greatest soundtrack. No More Heroes is also really good. I'm a fan of the music that plays in the Bad Girl boss fight which is an achievement considering how many times I died there.

Little King Story also has an amazing soundtrack. It's mostly versions of popular classical pieces but it's so good it makes you wonder why more games don't do it. Just walking around your kingdom listening to the royal musician play Ode to Joy is a great experience. I can't think of many other people using music like this since Frontier used midi quality versions of classical tracks like Blue Danube.

I agree it has good soundtracks, but you can't say that it has the best out of the 3 systems, it varies from personal taste and the developers who publish the game. Its not like the Wii requires good soundtracks from all its games.

Don't be forgetting World of Goo! It's made it to my MP3 player.
I was going to mention World of Goo but I lost track while thinking about Little King's Story.

This music is just brilliant.
