The Wire: Season 5 Premiere

Great show imo. Haven't seen the premier yet but as long as it still kicks ass I'll be seeing it soon enough.

Premiere is already up on-demand.

There's so much great stuff in how the story moves forward and the characters have developed.

When you see what Herc is doing, you'll laugh.

Wire fan right here, saw the first two over the last couple of days. I have in the past watched them all in one go, but was so impatient I'm going to have to stop-start over the next 9 weeks or so.

On a related note, i'd be interested to hear if there are people who watch the show who don't rave about it like some demented fanboy. I think back over the last couple of years, and how I managed to shoe-horn 'the Wire' into any and every conversation, and shudder . . .

Not to spoil it for anyone, but was I shocked at who turned up on Episode 2 . . .

I am convinced, regardless of how season 5 turns out, that The Wire is the single greatest television show in history. I'll defend that statement to the death.

I'm not sure such a person exists. The show makes Wire-Thumping proselytisers of us all.
