Basicly- Scince penny Arcade mentioned it- im seeing a whole lot of folks tryng this out (Marathon pro, Lightweight pro, Commando pro and Tac knife) And just wanted your thoughts on it- i find it works very well but leaves you a little vulnerable. But as far as being fun to play- its got to be the most fun weapon set ive used.

Who cares if you're vulnerable, you are a fucking ninja

I don't care if ninjas don't have the same weapon-power as modern firearms, if I have to choose between a S.A.S. soldier or a ninja, I'm picking the fucking ninja.

Tried it. Didn't wrkr too well for me without the tac knife. Also, i don't have lightweight pro yet. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Welcome by the way!

Sounds fun, and I just made a resolution to stop caring about my KD so yeah, gonna give this a try.

Could work well on Ground War.

I actually used to do that, only without the tac knife, mainly because I haven't unlocked it for any pistol yet :p

But I used to use those perks for a CTF match and I was the only one on my team to cap the flag. I captured it like 7 times. The enemy team got only 2 captures.

I would still use it, but having Marathon Pro, Cold Blooded Pro, and Ninja pro on a silenced weapon, I'm basically invisable to any radar, heartbead sensor, and chopper/harrier.

Granted anyone with a brain can still see me moving, but thats a risk I take, and it pays off.

Generally speaking, the maneuver isn't as effective as you'd probably like. Against certain teams and in certain situations it can be absolutely brutalally effective but most of the time you're almost certainly better off simply shooting people instead. One particular game stands out where most of the opposing team on a groundwar game (Domination, Terminal) was using some variation of the witch build. They were doing well early on and then it dawned on me that the solution was simply camp and lock off choke points and gun them down like a pack of L4D zombies. In another instance, in Skidrow, a team used a similar strategy and managed to utterly annihilate our team.

Basically, if you have lots of cover and close contacts, the witch build is excellent. In any other case, it's probably a terrible, terrible move.

I watched my roommate playing online. There were at least 3 guys in one game with that set, and who were using the Javelin glitch.

It didn't look very fun.

I did it for a while and it is a lot of fun, you get high kills but high deaths as well. The only thing is that the knife can be a bit buggy sometimes especially when there is a bit of lag.
For added noob value/fun get a friend and replace the primary weapon with a riot shield and go around double teaming people

I use it when I get bored and don't want to play seriously(same with riot shield). I do understand it's kindof a dick move but your easy to kill and so it's kinda evend out. It's not like some fag with an M16 in a corner with Scavenger Pro.

It's worth pointing this out.

It was on that map with the river running through it. Rundown I think. With the bushes and the two bridges? Haven't played in a fortnight, so cut me some lack please.

Anyway, I was in a party with two friends when they were talking about this. One of them (Hobo we'll call him, for that is his 'tag) had spend the last map doing this build (Without the tac-knife) and did quite well. My other friend (Ashassin. Mock him for the ban name if you wish) decides to do the same and have a little competition.

Hobo ends up MVPing the game, having scored himself an AC130 JUST by knifing. I. Shit. You. Not.

Hmm, it could work, only problem is I typically carry akimbo shotguns that have long range with me. Most people who try this on me are dead before they get within 10 feet of me.

[small] unless they have those damned riot shields.... [/small]

well as soon as I looked at perk list I figured thats what I would be using (If i'd sold out and bought the game) since in cod4 I often just played knife only even though there wasn't perks to really accomplish it. I just used smoke grenade/sprint perk/uav jammer... now you get all sort sorts help.

I like knifing people, but it's incredibly risky... and I hate marathon, because I like having throwing knifes to complement the awesome of my stabbing knife, so I have scavenger on instead to give myself unlimited knifes.

I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to me that you would have to be pretty good at weaving to use it well.
