Spend time gathering all the preserved foods, potable water, and combat gear in the city, then take what expired first and move to another city. I'd just keep moving across the country, using what I could to move supplies to my home town. Before leaving to do that, I'd search homes for any pictures of my friends and family, or something I could remember them by. As I traveled, I'd try to rig a radio relay system that would reach across the whole country, and maybe across the oceans, in case anyone else survived. Then I'd get in damn good shape and work on combat skills until my food almost ran out, someone replied, or I went crazy.
If the former, I'd head to the coast and try to fly or sail across the ocean to Europe. If the latter, I'd probably kill myself in my insanity. The second would never happen, but I wouldn't be sure of it. Right before the end, I'd pray that I could finally be reunited with my loved ones.

Loot several major food stores, claim a big house and make it a fort.
Next raid for gas and generators/ air conditioning units.
Then take out shitty cars get nice cars and efficient cars.

Speed, seaweed, icebergs and robot pirates. Plus if my mode of transport is going to kill me I'd rather go out in a giant fireball than drown.Tim D said:

If there's any uncertainty over whether I'm the only one left, I'd look desperately for any other survivors, hoping there's at least 1 female out there.

go to my house in the country, go to the nearest gun store and grab a healthy supply of hunting weapons and ammunition, bop over to TSC for some seeds, and live in my little corner reading the various libraries and farming/hunting.
