Well I can't argue for that reason alone. But he's been terrific in the past. Interview with a vampire, Top Gun, Collateral, The Last Samurai, Valkyrie, Eyes Wide Shut... All very different roles but he is great in all of them.
Of that list, I'll grant you Top Gun, Interview with a Vampire, and Last Samurai, the rest were absolute crap if you ask me.

I will admit, though, I don't like Tommy as a person in general, so that does bias me towards disliking his acting.
Fair enough... By association though, John Travolta... I forget, was he ever good in a film?
:p I was actually going to name him but forgot how to spell his last name and didn't feel like looking it up.

And no, no he hasn't.

Broken Arrow is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen...made even funnier by the fact that it's not supposed to be funny.
Pulp Fiction?

OT: Are they a bad actor if they play the same role in every film but do it well? They might be a good actor but are type cast and don't get a chance to display their range.

Female: Megan Fox

Male: Justin Bieber (based on his terrible CSI performance)

He was also in Saturday Night Fever, which was by far one of the biggest movies of the 1970s. Also Face/Off and the Thin Red Line.

And yeah, I remember how Lucas strained himself to suck every last ounce of personality out of Natalie Portman, Yuan McGregor and Samuel Jackson for the Prequel Trilogy.

i will not condone a course of action that will lead us to war.
i just learned a terrible truth i think chancellor palpetine is a sith lord

I'll give MacGregor props, though, he fought with every fiber of his being to let his character do a little emoting. And his tantrum at the end of Ep3 worked better than nnnnoooooooooooo.

ROUND TWO

Keanu Reaves

Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis? Really? I thought she was pretty good in Black Swan and Friends With Benefits... Keanu Reaves is definitely not the worst either....

OT: I have a unreserved passionate hate for anything starring Megan Fox, she's not a good actor and she's generi-hot which is a sad, sad combination for somebody in films. on a more specific note, everybody who touched the steaming pile of crap that was 'The Dark is Rising', it made me want to great my eyes with a cheese grater...
We may have seen different films, but from what my girlfriend has shown me, Black Swan hasn't made up for it.

and Keanu isn't the worst because he's bad. He's one of the worst because if you put him in a role without emotion or expression and full of determination (The Devil's Advocate/Constantine/The Matrix), he excels. Anything else, and it's atrocious.
I suppose my list is more or less turning into really really bad actors, but still...

Kristen Stewart can't get mentioned enough. Google "The many faces of Kristen Stewart" for some more, unnecessary at this point, proof.

I don't know why - but I really really don't like Ben Stiller. I can't stand any character he plays - he just annoys me. There are worse actors, yeah - but I boycott any movie of his.

Jack Black is pretty annoying now as well.

EDIT: I think this thread may well have named every actor in Hollywood and Kristen Stewart an equal amount of times at this point...

Gonna go with a few others on these ones.

Kristin Stewart (or however the bloody hell you spell her name) basically because of what everyone else has said. I went to see The Avengers the other night and saw the preview for that Snow White she's in? Looks freakin' awesome except for her. She's pulling the same face throughout the entire trailer. She's so wooden. Isn't there a demotivational floating around of her compared to Emma Watson's expressions? That pretty much sums it up.

For men, sorry for the guy who wants to punch me in the face but definitely Nicholas Cage. I can't watch a movie with him in. How he's so huge is beyond me he's just such a terrible terrible actor. Terrible line delivery, emotion (or lack of) and pretty much always plays the same guy.

I have to say that Kristen Stewart. The woman has no talent, she just does the zombie face all the time. Not just in Twilight, in other movies too. I honestly don't know how she got in the business. To be fair though, Bella strikes me as being more than a little stupid in the books, so I suppose she fit that role at least. [/rant]

Not sure which male actor, there are a few pretty awful ones. :)
Well, she might've been a little better when she was... a child. She starred in Catch that Kid. Maybe, that's how. She's just gotten worse. (Seriously, now, she looks like she's gotta make a record-breaking puke/crap every minute!) Big studios only care about your big accomplishments in the past. They don't care if you're talentless now. Actually... wait... A lot of them don't care about talent, anyway. They just want to know how much dough you can rake in for them.

Anyway, I have really come to dislike Jim Carrey. A LOT. He is not an actor. He fails to fit the criteria. He always pulls the exact same personality every single time. That's not acting. Acting is to be able to pretend you are other personalities. This is far from acting. He's energetic, but he doesn't really "act", strictly-speaking.

Have I yet mentioned enough times that he really can't actually "act"?
Jim Carey? You seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or Number 23, he's amazing!

Not sure if he has been mentioned but all other actors are oscar worthy in comparison to

HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN!

I loathe him and every movie he is in and every stone he steps on. My god he is awful, and not even in a funny way.
This, I've taken thought, but this must be the final answer!

ITT, we discuss who we believe the worst actor currently working in the business is. This is primarily focusing on notable Hollywood actors, so avoid citing B-movie actors (Tommy Wiseau) or actors that most people wouldn't know. The criteria for awfulness is yours to decide, though acting ability is mostly what I had in mind when creating this thread. Just be sure to state why you think they're the worst of the worst. If you want to include one male and one female feel free to do so.

I would have included directors in the title as well, but I get the feeling that Uwe Boll would be a shoo-in for top honors. Regardless, you can throw some directing names out there if you so desire.

My vote goes to Sam Worthington.
Does this count?

(Please say it counts)
It does naht count, it does naaaaht.

As for me, I'm going with Gerard Butler. Talk about a guy who oozes nonchalance, in spite of his complete and total lack of talent.
I think Gerard Butlers acting ability is relative to whether or not he has to put on an American accent. When using his native Scottish accent, he's fine... Nothing special but nothing to complain about. When he tries it on with an American accent... It just doesn't fit and the performance suffers for it. Also, he makes terrible judgements in choice of scripts.

Shia Labeouf.
Dear lord his whiny, annoying, high pitched voice....

As for female actors its Julia Roberts.
She just seems like a ***** trying to pretend to be nice

Sometimes I feel as if I'm the only person in the world who enjoys some of Dolph Lundgren's b-movies. Of course I'm not, but it just feels that way.
