My worst time ever was when I was stranded on a rock for 18 months with nothing but a sock and a leather hand bag that used to belong to my daughter.

Worst 18 months ever, I mean this rock didn't even have fresh water so I had to drink nothing but sea water for 18 months. Bad times people bad times.
Somehow i feel that you are full of bollocks..
Living 18 months without freshwater would kill you no doubt..
You would die from dehydration, before starvation go to you..
That is totally correct. Straight saltwater cannot sustain you, it dehydrates you more than it hydrates you. And you can only go three days without water.

I've already explained the military can train you to last 2 years without food and I drunk nothing but salt water.
No, no. That's a load of shit, and you know it. Look it up anywhere: salt water cannot nourish you. It has way more salt than your body can metabolize. It dehydrates you faster than it hydrates you. It's impossible to live on straight seawater. So unless you were able to pull a decanter out of your ass too, you wouldn't have lived more than three or four days.

I don't understand the point of this thread. Is it just to whinge about some poor luck people have had recently? If so, why would you want that? Surely it just allows you to feel sorry for yourself, and get stuck in a rut of negative perspective.

Or is it just a jovial 'bad luck contest'? In which case, OP's doing well. :p

Nope I'm still here to tell the story so I think you're lying.
Come now, you're way too old to be this bad at trolling. 18 months, seriously? And then acting all petulant and transparent when you're proven wrong, not even putting up a cohesive argument? Obvious troll is obvious.

Nawh I'm not trolling I'm just messing around. If you're going to take a story that ridiculous and try and prove it wrong then you're the one in the wrong.
Well excuse me for getting my feathers a bit ruffled when you pour 50 pounds of shit into a thread where people are spilling out their troubles for all the world to see.

So he's not allowed to make a joke because other people are complaining?

Actually if it weren't for that post, this thread would have died with 4-5 posts, but that story was obviously fake. I might have to thank you for keeping the thread alive, but if you would've read the thread, then you might have seen this:

Nawh I'm just messing around really.
If you want to, then try to explain people how someone can't live without food and water for 18 months, but keep it out of threads that have nothing to do with it.

There are also people who bully others and have extremely good luck. And I'm not going to change my opinion of my bad luck before you find someone with a worse luck.
Well, considering your brother was the one who was sick, he has worse luck.

But you're right, you should run up to him and demand an apology for his inconsiderate illness that caused you to actually help someone (once).
In my opinion, "sick" isn't the same as "unlucky". It happens every once in a while to all of us. And my brother has all the attributes I mentioned above. Also, if you think I should, then I guess I might go ask him an apology. After all - helping people is just horrible and pointless.

I was an SAS pilot and we got shot down by Somali pirates and I crash landed into the ocean.

I swam onto a 4inch by 12 inch rock and perched on top of it for 18 months, the cramp I had when they rescued me was ridiculous.

And in the SAS they train you how to go up to 2 years without food. It's a military secret so I can't tell you.
Unless you come up with some solid proof, I'm not convinced. You put your birthdate as 13. July 1993, if you don't remember.

~He's taking the piss. -.-

O.T. I'm utterly paranoid so I only feel great when I'm with someone I trust. Which isn't often but I like to be alone sometimes :) Gives me chance to reflect.

Last Monday at about 9:30pm I hit a 2x4 as I exited the interstate and my tire kinda popped... it's dark, cold, raining and I don't have a cell phone. So I walked two hours, which I found out later was roughly 8 miles, to work and did a 5.5 hour shift.

Good exercise, I guess...

*Silver Lining: The raining stopped right at 10pm, which is when I started to hoof it. Never started up again, so it could've easily been worse... although I did manage to find a rather large, ankle-deep puddle that utterly soaked my socks and shoes... eh, still though, didn't get sick or anything. :p
Ah yes, water. I remember, that one day, whenever you would step, there would be water, sleet or mud.

Could you clarify how you got to the rock, and how you survived without food for 18 months? And were you on a rock in the middle of an ocean?
