Shotgun from DE:HR (not the silverback, the vanilla one)
You must of tried using it when you had already upgraded your other weapons or you have a particular playstyle. Certain augs compliment certain weapons too...like reticle spread whilst moving.

I used the shotgun on my second playthrough...it was a very impressive weapon...only weakness is long range.
I stunlocked the second boss (yelena) with my upgraded shotgun..didn't even know you could stunlock bosses.
The revolver with explosive rounds is a better choice because it takes less inventory space but it is more noisy and close range shooting will kill you. With the shotgun I shot bosses and heavys in the face

I found the combat rifle weak half way through the game...you can't even headshot medium armoured guys...you need 3 headshots...which means you better have fully upgraded your recoil aug. It's saving grace was homing bullets.

The sniper rifle was also useless..sniping suits a stealth playthough yet it was not silenced. So it kind of becomes useless in most cases. And it takes up so much inventory space that holding it for the few instances you can use it isn't really worth it.

Whatever that gun in Fallout 3 was called that hurled whatever loose objects happened to be around at the enemies. It was pretty funny to hurl random garbage at enemies, but it wasn't overly useful.
The Rock-It launcher? Fun but pretty pathetic :p
Yes! That was it. The annoying thing about that one is that you couldn't just find it, you had to build it only to find out it wasn't particularly useful. Fun, but useless.

The Blooper ink thing in most Mario Karts is pretty useless, never seemed to cover enough of the screen to be a hinderance, particularily if you knew the track and one boost in the later games made it clear off the screen anyway

Any anti-aircraft weapon in BF3. Flares and ECM just block it and heaven forbid you actually get a hit you will get kicked by the admin who is currently going 100-1 in the helicopter

The Nintendog Assist trophy in Smash Bros. Brawl. at least when facing AI players anyway. The AI doesn't need to see the screen so it only screws you up.

The Rock-It Launcher was actually my primary weapon for most of the game. With 100 points in big guns, it does 50 damage per strike. It also fires semi-automatically, can hold an infinite ammount of ammo, and that ammo can be reused. I'd actually argue that it's the best gun in the game.

The knife in Resident Evil 0. I'm thinking specifically of the Hard difficulty here, but I distinctly remember that it's basically impossible to kill an enemy with it without being hit yourself(I know people have done knife runs, but most of those are fucking masochists, your average person just wouldn't/shouldn't try it). The weapon is pretty much just there to fill inventory space and trap new players.
I'd say every knife in a Resident Evil game pre RE4 was garbage.

Also the TMP and the Minelauncer in Resident Evil 4. The TMP has way too little ammo drops in the game to make it a sustainable weapon, and the Minelauncher is just... terrible.
The TMP was an emergancy weapon most of the time. If you stocked up and ammo and got scared, well no one feels scared holding on to that rapid fire goddess. And the mine launcher broke a good amount of bosses and sepecialty enemies really hard.

There are probably much more useless ones, but does the gravity gun was the first thing that pooped into my head. Does that count as a tool? Because I was literally looking for excuses to use it as a weapon and probably killed a total of maybe 5-10 things with it outside of ravenholm. IMO it should have functioned like it does when it gets supercharged the whole game.
To tires to toilets that gun is consistantly oneshot if you got a sharpeye in the enviroment. And nothing stops you from holding on to a sawblade. I even took the ravenholm sign and brought it with my to the lab, kinda like a postcard.

The sniper rifles in Fallout. What's the point in having a sniper scope if your shots hit or miss based on a statistic? Completely pointless.

Also the sword in Assassin's Creed. Yeah, it's basically the most deadly close combat weapon ever concieved short of a lightsaber thanks to AC's fight mechanics, but it does exactly the same thing as the long knife, with the same level of effectiveness, and the knife looks cooler. In fact, I'm pretty sure the knife is faster in AC: Revelations.

Qwack-o-matic from Ratchet and Clank series, or any other weapon the works like it in the series.
Good comedy relief, crap weapon.

But the TMP takes a lot of space, especially together with the Stock. And that for something you hardly ever use. I used the Minelauncer maybe 3 times, and when I did it the effects were so flimsy that I chucked it and ignored it from then on. Maybe I wasn't using it right.

Thats the Rock-It launcher. I actually used it for quite a while: Was hard to aim, but had pretty good damage. Was admittedly one of the worse Big guns though (Hated the mini-gun)

OT: The Self-Defense pistol from resident evil 1. Only had one bullet in the entire game, and used up a valuable inventory spot.

Eh, TMP didn't need the stock if you was using it as designed so power to size it was probably second to the handcannon.
The minelauncher doubled as a sniper rifle due to its scope which if you attack from range you can avoid agro really well.
Its best against... Napolian ****** guy, angry armored wolverin, and "I'm full of health regenerating tapworms so your forced to use shitty heat scope". Yes that is their cannon names.

I always instantly think of the ketchup and mustard in Dead Rising 2. You couldn't even throw it, you just squirt it at em! The foam hand is equally pointless, but at least you could throw it. Throwing is fun.

The Razor Sword from Majora's Mask. As an upgrade to your default sword it does the job, but the catch is that it reverts back after 100 swings. This makes it absolutely worthless, and smart people only get it as a stepping stone to get the Gilded Sword, which does twice as much damage again, but more importantly doesn't break.

With Salazar I just always bought a Rocket Launcer from our friend the Merchant right outside the Boss Area. One shot of that to his exposed form and he's dead.

Maybe I'll give the Minelaucher another shot, but I'm pretty set in my ways when it comes the RE4 weaponry: Gun, shotgun, rifle, magnum.

I have to say the Magnum pistol from Halo 3. In Halo 1 it was THE weapon of choice, good clip, good fire rate, good damage, good range with a zoom. In halo 2 it got worse. But in halo 3. It got really really slow in fire rate, the damage was awful and they even removed the zoom on it. Usually some of the weaker weapons like the SMG or plasma rifles were usable in dual wield situations, but there really wasn't any reason to pick up the magnum with another gun. Not even the plasma pistol as the chance of hitting that headshot right after using the plasma pistol wasn't reliable enough.
Actually the H3 Mag' was a pretty good trolling weapon once you got good with it.
It was the equivalent of a crappy, hard to use, one handed BR at close to medium ranges. I remember duel wielding under... Snowbound I think it was? (two purple bases, snow up top, turrets on edge of map) And out fighting shotguns, plasma rifles, maulers, BRs, assault rifles and sometimes smgs.

Anyway it was a good way to let most who thought they were good with a BR or other "only pro's can use insert weapon name" know that they most definitely were not. As I said, Good trolling weapon. Oh and yea the H2 magnum sucked.
Haha, yeah getting out shot by a Magnum when you're using a BR gotta be pretty embarrassing. And maybe so, to be fair I never really tried to get good with it. I usually never picked it up, if I didn't have a weapon with 0 ammo, and then i just felt that it was complete garbage.

And yeah that's snowbound, the map everyone would use shotgun/maulers and camp next to those doorways you could walk through but not shoot through and wait for someone to walk in. Never were the biggest fan of that map.

I would have to go with the stick from Fable. I mean it's a stick! you can't really get worse than that.
