All of the minigames in Mario Party that required the player to twirl the N64 analog stick in a circle as fast as possible, because it had the very real potential to physically hurt you. Not only did it result in millions of blistered palms around the globe, but it also did a number on the sticks themselves. My N64 controller's stick has a steadily growing deadzone in the middle and, while wear and tear is to be expected of aging hardware, I can't help but think that it would be in better shape if it weren't for those blasted minigames. Thank God the sequels ditched that particular mechanic and never looked back.

I have to say that almost all of the minigames in Danganronpa 2 were either so easy it was just a pointless waste of time or just a really infuriating way of your character figuring out some of the most basic things imaginable. From what I've played of Danganronpa V3 its improved on them massively, but for 2 specifically I would have lost no positive experience from the game if they'd all been removed completely.

Planet Scanning from ME2.
That wasn't a minigame. Minigames are supposed to be fun break from the main game. I used to do groundskeeping and maintenance at a school. My shitty, boring, tedious job elicits less bile than that time sink. Under no circumstance did anyone involved in that travesty ever think it was fun. In fact, I would go so far as to say that none of the minigames in ME2 were ever designed to be any fun.

Hell, I'll go further still! EVE Online's minigames are less tedious than the minigames in ME2. Goddamn I fucking hated those minigames. Looking back, I don't really hold ME2 in terribly high esteem. It was, by far, the weakest of the trilogy, those fucking minigames were just the icing on the cake.
Planet scanning was the worst just killed the pace dead they took out the crappy mako sections from the first and made them 10 times worse. Filler of the worst kind.
I swear I'm the only one in the whole Universe who actually liked the Mako driving sections in ME1 (shut up, I know I'm never the only one). Maybe it's because I was playing the PC version with mouse and keyboard, but I honestly didn't find the controls that bad. In any case it seems to me the solution would be just to improve the controls not remove the it completely and replace it with boring minigame.
For What It's Worth, I honestly didn't get the MAKO hate either. Yeah, it's not the best controlling vehicle in the world but it wasn't terrible either. It did it's job well enough in the story missions where you had to drive. The random planets, OTOH, were pretty boring to begin with.
That was my biggest complaint as well. Everyone complained about how the Mako controlled, but nobody complained about how all the non-story related planets were boring! What was up with that?

You know what's amazing? You can still buy brand new N64 controllers! I can't believe they are still making them.

I love Alpha Protocol. It's easily one of my favourite games from the 360/PS3 gen. I've beaten it multiple times and am planning another playthrough soon.

That said whoever designed the hacking minigame can fuck right off. Shit actually hurts my eyes

Shitty 3rd party ones, not official ones. I was so happy when on a trip to Maine I found an actual vintage game store and bought a used but great condition official N64 controller. My 3rd party one was garbage out of the package.

Wasn't Bowser's Inside Story the one that, at some point in the game, told you to put the system down and go do something else for a few minutes?

In FFX, I didn't play a single Blitzball game after the mandatory one.

FF7 had a bunch of stupid one-off minigames, like the motorcycle chase with the dodgy collision detection with your sword against the enemies, the snowboarding with the awful controls, and the Fort Condor RTS.... thing.
