Phantoms, every time a thread like this is created it will get the same answer from me...
Watch it and feel a little part of you die...
At first I was thinking "What the hell? That movie wasn't that bad." Then I realized I was actually thinking of 'Frightners' staring Michael J. Fox.
Worst movie I've seen? Zetgeist. Starts out interesting, actually discusses plausible origins to modern religious myth. It than takes a serious downturn into completely irrelevant, pretentious conspiracy theory hogwash.
The change was what made it so bad, if it had just gone right into the twat-fest it ended up being, the movie would've just been " Eh, there's dozens of idiots making movies like this". The fact that it started a climb to being half-way decent before descending into utter drivel made it much more vomit worthy.
It really feels like someone else started making a different movie halfway through. The first bits are presented pretty well objectively, and after that it is all deep end conspiracy claims being offered as true. They could have at least also included an evolutionary science explanation of why so many of us are inclined to see conspiracies where there aren't any. That would have actually been really interesting, especially after the religious explanations of the beginning.
"Here's what some modern, mainstream religions practice and believe, and now what the origins of those beliefs probably are. Over here are the beliefs of modern conspiracy theorists, and now an explanation of why many humans see patterns, and believe in them so strongly: It's an evolutionary adaptation to promote survival."
But, if they had done that, it wouldn't have been the worst movie I've seen.
