We all know of the raging successes of the gaming industry, as well as some of the more massive flops. But what about those little-known consoles? Obviously if we've never heard of them, they aren't good. But which ones are the worst?

I think I'll choose... the Apple Bandai Pippin. Yes, Apple entered the gaming market long before Microsoft did. Plus, they were the first console to have real Internet connection via an included modem. However, the games on it were... lacking, to say the least. The price was way too high ($599 US Dollars... wow, deja vu). There wasn't much third party development going on with the system, so the only games coming out (other than Marathon) were from Bandai. Plus, look at this controller:

(Hmm... this all feels so familiar...)

Yeah, the Pippin just plain sucked.

What about some of the later Atari consoles such as the Jaguar. Or better yet, the Virtual Boy.

There is a reason nobody ever talks about them in a positive sense, and that's because they sucked.

I wouldn't call the Virtual Boy or Jaguar 'obscure'. Maybe the Atari Lynx, but the Jag is rather well known.

I have heard of the Pippin, and it could have been so much better. Oh well.

My vote goes to the Pippin as well.

Have you ever played a Virtual Boy? It has to be played on a table and can't be done so for more than twenty minutes at a time without getting headaches.

I do agree that the Lynx was a bit obscure.

And all the graphics were red.
And black.

The most obscure? Probably the Pippin, or the Lynx.

If i'm correct there was a console called the phantom or something, supposed to play computer games on the television. Never really saw the light of day.

Might of got the name wrong, but don't feel like digging through old G.I. issues.

the nintendo gamecube, very obscure console because it sucked
Really?
Obviously you don't know what obscure means.
It doesn't mean bad, it means not well known (in a sense). And it sucking is sheer opinion. I know plenty of people that love it.
And almost everyone that plays games knows what a Gamecube is.

I'm not arguing that it sucks. I've played one, and it does. What I'm saying is that it's a pretty well known console, so it doesn't really fit into this thread.

I hope you're just referring to the fact that the Vectrex was obscure, because, quite frankly, that thing was absolutely awesome.
Yeah, yeah, vector graphics and all that The damn thing looked like a to tiny to use TV with two paddles attached inconveniently close to the thing.

3D0. I think the entire library made it to 25 games (give or take 5 games) and they were charging 500+ for it. Ridiculous.

So you're assuming the thing was crap just because you don't like how it looks? That's pretty pathetic, if you ask me.

Trust me, if you have ever played or owned one, you wouldn't be looking at it in such a negative light. Armor Attack alone made the Vectrex awesome.

You are the only one assuming anything. I have played one. Didn't care for it. I don't care that you like it. I dislike the PSP as well, but loads of people like it.
