Worst Cast/Characterisation or Individual Character.- To many to list I'll go with Alex Mercer, way to blend and uninteresting.
Worst Stealth Game.- Tenchu Z.......... I'll agree with the OP here the Tenchu games just suck.
Worst Original Game.-Pryzm
Worst sequel.- Spier-Man 3 they had a perfect formula from the previous game and some how fucked it up, plus it looked like all of New York got a graphics downgrade.
Worst adaptation game (Movie, comic, books, tv shows.).- like a third of the Snes line up, I'll give it to the Godzilla game for now, it was A Godzilla game that penalized you for destroying buildings.
The most disappointing game (doesn't have to be bad just disappointing).- The Viewitful Joe sequels I loved the first and non of the rest are as good.

Worst RPG - Divinity 2, The Dragon Knight Saga: I thought I was getting an action-rpg, instead I got a dull World of Warcraft wannabe.

Hmmm.

Worst Combat System: Chrono Cross.
Worst Difficulty Curve: toss-up between Catherine and Devil Survivor 2
Worst Cheating Bastard Computer: Devil Survivor 2 again.
Worst Aiming System: Metal Gear Solid 1. In the original, I don't think you could first-person aim. Or something like that.
Worst Overcomplicated Combat: The World Ends With You. You seriously expect me to fight on two screens at lightning speed?
Worst Game: Lost Kingdoms 2. I just remember this game being horrible and unplayable.
Most Disappointing: Mindjack. You make a game about brain hacking and dare to make it atrociously boring? YOU SUCK.

Whoever spoke against Heavy Rain is a sad, sad individual. :p Same with Nier's music. You *wish* more games had a soundtrack as glorious as Nier's.

No, Too Human is horrible it has no excuse, and Kane and Lynch 2 had potential because the first one was in some ways good, and it just fucked all up.

I like borderlands.

I never tried those games because I have seen a let's play and those games are just broken. Sorry for not playing that awful games.

9.Worst Original Game.- Too Human.
I'm sorry, WHAT!?!?!

This coming from one of the few guys who throughly enjoyed Too Human, I understand most peoples gripes about it. Yes, it got repetitive. And yes, the story was completely horse crud.

The setting and the concept however, were truly astounding. Combining the Norse gods in a futuristic setting whilst adding a little bit of steampunk and medieval tones to it. Most of the enemies were taken at least roughly from ancient mythology and then transformed to fit the futuristic world. I thought it was wonderful.
I just hatted this game, it was boring, not interesting, what you called astounding I called pretentious and it failed in every way they tried, that is my opinion, glad you looked some bright side of the game.

10.- Worst sequel.- I'm between Bioshock 2
You jest?

Surely Bioshock 2 is not as good as the original, but worst? It would be a very solid game alone and it's not even a bad sequel considering that it did do a few things better than the original.

Wow, wow, wow. Why is Bioshock 2 one of the worst sequels. I'll admit the story doesn't hold a candle to Bioshock, but the gameplay was vastly improved and was a pretty damn good game.
I'm with original poster. Throughout Bioshock was gripped enough to continue. I didn't even finish Bioshock 2. It had the do or don't morality and didn't make for a memorable experience.

Worst Character in Gaming- Lance Vance from "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City". Every problem you encounter in that game is directly the fault of Lance's actions.

Worst Sequel- Without a doubt, "Metroid: Other M". Never before or since have I seen a sequel so totally and utterly disregard all previous characterization of the main character, as well as plot elements from said previous games.

Worst Boss Fight: Alpha-152 in Dead or Alive 4. It wasn't the difficulty that made it bad. It was the cheapness. If the game wanted you to lose, you would. Every single counter takes off at least 1/3 of your health, and the boss can teleport at will. On top of that, she doesn't have a single combo that's less than 8 hits, and each combo takes off, at minimum 1/4 of your health.

From what I've played:
[HEADING=1]Most poorly designed game:
GunZ: The Duel[/HEADING]
Though honestly, the game's poor design is what actually makes the game enjoyable.

It's stupid that you can cancel attack animations into a blocking stance and still have the attack's hitbox still come out. It's stupid that you can climb walls by cancelling a wall jump animation into something else back into a wall jump. It's stupid that you can reload while switching weapons. It's stupid that standard play looks like a bunch of jumping and sword waving.

And it's downright ridiculous that this game is one of the most fun games I've ever played. Because you can cancel pretty much anything into what feels like everything, Gunz: The Duel feels so free form. It's a joy even just moving around in this game.

GunZ: The Duel would have sucked if it were put together any better.

[HEADING=1]Worst controls:
Big Bang Beat Revolve[/HEADING]
The input buffer. It's way too freaking large. This game's input buffer is far more difficult to work with than even Street Fighter IV's, which is notoriously annoying. Big Bang Beat Revolve tries its absolute hardest to sabotage your inputs. It'll remember old inputs from way back when and blend it with your current inputs to screw you over.

Sure you can get used to the super wonky input buffer, but good luck with that. These control issues are what kills what could otherwise have been a worthwhile indie fighting game experience.

...And I know, I linked a combo video. But play the game, and you'll know that Big Bang Beat Revolve does not play as crispy as it looks.

[HEADING=1]Most disappointing game:
Yatagarasu 4[/HEADING]
Yatagarasu 4 is a fighting game developed by several former SNK employees. It's not a horrible game, it's clear these dudes knew what they were doing. Yatagarasu looks good, has some cool characters, and plays fine. The game is made well, there are no problems with controls, bugs or anything. Because of this, I felt pretty good about this game.

It's just too bad they didn't finish the game.

Despite featuring eight characters (which is a pretty reasonable number for an indie fighter), Yatagarasu's roster is full of clones. And because a good amount of these characters are clones, there is very little variety to play with. It's especially disappointing since this game does feature some cool character designs. It's unfortunate how laziness had spoiled what could have been an interesting cast.

Yatagarasu plays like an strange lite version of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, which isn't bad, but I'd much, rather just play 3rd Strike. I feel this game could have benefited from a six button layout. Which is actually kind of weird. Four buttons should be enough; a lot of fighting games use a four button layout. Four buttons feels great for Vanguard Princess, another Street Fighter style indie fighting game, but not here. That game feels nice and meaty, while Yatagarasu feels light and shallow. I always feel too limited in my options when I play Yatagarasu -- these characters don't feel like they have complete movelists.

Simply put, Yatagarasu 4 feels pretty half-baked.

No, no... I cannot believe there's someone who doesn't like those voices!

Whenever I hear them all I can think... MONEY MONEY MONEYYYY
I agree with this. The KF voice acting was charmingly cheesy.

Oh man, the absolute worst? This is tough.

Worst sequels would probably be any of the Painkiller games after the first one. I just pretend they don't exist. Actually, no, for me it's probably The Darkness 2.

Worst game I ever got at full price was probably Dead Island. It was... sort of fun, for the first part of the game, then it took a massive nosedive and it wasn't good enough to get past it's problems anymore.

I feel somehow that Dark Messiah belongs on this list, despite the fact that I love that game. There's just so much wrong with it, from the writing to the voice acting to the physics, but it's all part of the fun.

Worst bugs ever: Shadow of Chernobyl on release. It was the definition of unplayable.

Worst VA: Splinter Cell Conviction. Just look it up on youtube, it will explain itself.

Worst game: Medal of Honor (the newish one). I can't claim to have played any of the really classic terrible games like Vampire Rain or Kayne and Lynch 2, so this will have to do for now.

Captcha: heavy metal. Hey, that just reminded me of worst dlc map ever.

SPECIAL AWARDS: WORST GAME THAT WAS STILL PLAYABLE: BRINK... sort of. Outside of technical issues I still managed to play it for about a week before giving up.

Game I regretted buying before remembering it was free: APB Reloaded

To be honest, I find the category of games that are bad but still sort of fun much more interesting.

I tend to be forgiving when it comes to games, but I'm sure I can dredge up some negatives...

Most Dissapointing; Final Fantasy XIII-2. Look, I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, but XIII is not nearly as bad as some people claim it to be. The sequel, on the other hand? Not only is it completely unecessary, it has virtually nothing to do with its predecessor. Aside from minor combat improvements and a surprisingly good villain, there is absolutely no reason why anyone should waste their time on this game, unless you are absolutely DESPERATE for a JRPG and your local game store is out of used copies of Eternal Sonata.

Hell, at least X-2 was FUN. (There, I said it.)

Worst Story: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. Force Unleashed 1 wasn't exactly a paragon of good writing, but at least it made coherent sense. FU2 is quite possibly the most appropriate descriptor for this game.

Most Overrated: Mass Effect trilogy. Now, I want to make it clear that the Mass Effect games are really good, and I have no beef with fans of the series. But, they aren't as good as many of said fans would make them out to be. Honestly, I could put Bioware as my personal most overrated develepor, come to think of it.

Some people here are in serious need to play actual awful-bad games to learn that there is a difference between good, mediocre and bad and more importantly, between "personal taste" and "objectivity".

Or maybe not, because i'm honestly jealous.

Agreed. Most of the entries in this thread are just mediocre or below average.

The thing is though, that while most gamers suck at avoiding the big mediocre titles, the really bad games, don't even get noticed.
The worst games are either unheared off or instantly filtered out when the gamer sees the red metacritic score on an obscure title.
Only a few of the terrible titles get infamy status, like Big Rigs.

What's truly bad isn't interesting. We want to know what's really good and what's supposed to be good, but really isn't, to warn us away from a poor purchase we could have made.

Inevitably these threads always amount to bashing mediocre titles that seemed interesting or were hyped at a time, but didn't meet expectations.

Zero reference, broken tutorial, and I should not have to watch 500 hours of tutorial video to understand how to play the game.

But this is just me.

I know it seems like i'm parroting the popular opinion, but hear me out. Battlefield 3. Besides the obvious lack of any sort of innovation and being yet another first person brown-athon..

I remember getting to this mission where I was in a shopping mall I think, and I had to escape with an NPC, got to the chopper with them, and smacked into an invisible wall. Why? What purpose did that serve except to pad out that mission? But I didn't quit there...

I got to the next mission which was a convoy through this forest area, I got about a quarter through the mission and just thought.. "Is this game really not over yet?..." Wow. That is the first time I have ever thought that. The first game I ever couldn't finish because the game was just so tedious. I should NEVER think "Is it over yet?.." while playing a GAME. A game shouldn't make me feel bored enough to realize that the game is dragging itself out. I should be disappointed when the game ends, not horrified that the game hasn't ended yet.

Moving on.. Worst Sequel? Diablo 3. I played through that game once from start to finish and I have yet to touch the game again. It managed to feel so boring and colorful, the atmosphere and the interesting world was gone and replaced by this.. cartoony schlock.

Worst Main Character?.. The main character from Bullestorm. YOU HAVE AN ENERGY BULLWHIP AND A BOOT THAT SENDS ENEMIES FLYING AND SLOWS DOWN TIME. HAVE SOME FUN AND STOP BEING EMO EVERY FIVE SECONDS.

Worst Original Game?.. Alpha Protocol. Like every Obsidian game, an awesome sounding premise, an all around awesome game.. (In theory). But then you play it and the gameplay ranges from annoying to downright broken... And the minigames? Are less tests of skill and more ways to make your eyes bleed from strain.

Worst Indie game? Magicka. Screw you, and your unavoidable deaths. You have to charge up cast any sort of powerful spells, and while you do that, there are minotaurs that charge at you and knock you off the cliffs. A LOT of damage is unavoidable because of that.
