Final Boss.
it. will. never. go. down. at least until you figure out that it has a trememdous amount of health
No, the real kick in the nuts is when you beat the boss and the credits roll, and then you get thrown into the game with no epilogue, no explanation, just a pointless mission to go give away the vault key so someone else can try to open it in 200 years, long after your pointless mortal life has winked out of existence.
I don't care because you see that Claptrap...becomes......A NINJA ASSASSIN

Obviously: The game ended

/thread
Are you allowed to declare "/thread" yourself?

I'm pretty sure someone else has to quote your post and then /thread it.

I would have done it for you had you posted "when NANOSAUR ended."
He's wrong anyway, further making his /thread redundant (and whether you can do it yourself or not, it's pretty sad).

The game ending is better than the game going on for hours after it should have ended, totally destroying anything you liked about the game and making you play it because you want to know the end.

Here's looking at you Dark Athena.

The escort mission with a wounded EVA in Metal Gear Solid 3. I usually tranquilize her immediately and then carry her around, but even then it's still very annoying. Luckily it's preceded and followed by a great part.

The part when you beat it. You never get the same experience that you get the first time through... :(

I'd say in GTA IV it was the fact that they didn't have all the crazy minigames that were in San Andreas

i hated the whole getting captured/torture bit in metal gear solid.

you can look at the door and clearly see that you don't have the card to unlock it, but the game expects you to try anyway. and god, i hate button mashing. and nobody wants the otacon ending...

The very first and very last parts of Fallout 2.
Temple of trials: Hey did you tag Unarmed or Melee Weapons? No, sucks to be you.
Then the Oil Rig. Frank Horigan. That is all.

There are a few terrible missions in Jak 2, but there is one that stands out, that I megaloathe. You're on some kind of railshooting machine and all around you are flying enemies and you just move through the level and you of course have to shoot them down and there are probably about million of them. Every time I play the game and get to that mission I have to stop playing for a couple of days to cool down after failing for the hundredth time.

It sucks.
True, that one was pretty sucky aswell.

But not NEARLY as much as the boulder part :p

The Baldur's Gate games: The beginnings are both slow and feel - mostly in BG 2 though - a bit dragged out and perhaps tacked on if i so dare say. I'm looking at you, Jon irenicus, for building that awful and asinine thing you call a dungeon ._. . Of course, the other parts of the game was stellar, not perfect, but perfection is nigh-impossible and kinda boring. Only other complaint I have is that the story and banter in BG 2 feels a bit cut-down - or perhaps that's just 'cause of the wordcount not being as big as BG 1, i dunno, but I miss when you could manually talk to your party members. Then I go play BG 1 :p . Of course, I get huge kicks whenever minsc opens his mouth, and i chuckle ever so slightly at yoshimo.

Dragon age, in the Tower of Magi.
The sloth section. Seriously, with enemies that if overwhelmed, kill you, have you all alone, and some stupid maze puzzle thing, who thought this would be a good section for a game?

The entire Act 3 to MSG4. First you have to follow that stupid resistance fighter through the entire damn city. Then we have that asinine motorcycle chase sequence followed by a boring boss battle. At least the cut scene near the end was alright. If you're into vaguely homoerotic fight scenes.

I could not agree more, and I mean it when I say 'more.'

Timed sections and escort missions are possibly the worst things ever made in the history of video gaming. I mean, at least some guys go easy on you by giving you so much time it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to complete or the escort has a weapon and a decent amount of fighting skill, but this unfortunately is a rare occassion.

my biggest problem with escort is that you need yo keep en eye on both yourself and your escortee or that your escortee just walks in your path
