Me.

It's a bit of a thrill to have a little box pop up mid-game, advising me that I've been given a non-monetary reward for performing something awesome or progressing in story or performing the grind required by the game's developers. Regardless, I like the things. Especially when they fall squarely in the awesome category.

You aren't the only one, that's exactly how I feel. I like getting them, just to show people that I play my games(there are those idiots who just go straight to live) and that I'm good at them

As everyone has been saying, just turn on auto sign in, you might of had it off. You never know.
If it's already on, then I don't know, that just sucks.

Second achs have little to do with actual skill. I have been kinda competing with a friend. He 1000's practically every game he gets. I was finally able to beat him by playing a sheer volume of games.

I'm amazed at how readily this thread has gotten people banned.

Actually, when I got my second x-box, I was annoyed that I was no longer being auto signed in by default. Luckily, I never did play a game that would even let me play in a significant fashion without signing in before I bothered to check if there was an option to auto-sign in.

Yet again a reason not to buy the 360. The PS3 doesn't have this problem. You login with your one and only account and bingo, you stay logged in and when you tell it to auto-login it doesn't do anything but keep booting up and simultaneously sign you in.

Are you aware that this issue had nothing to do with the 360 or it's log in system but was purely human error. When you tell the 360 to log you in automatically it does. If you press the guide button and go to the dashboard of course it will exit out of your game. If you can't tell you are logged in then no amount of technology will help you (til science discovers the cure for stupidity). And you can have more than one profile on it. So I guess that means +1 for MS since I can have a profile for each and every one of my friends who can then customize their own dashboard theme, gamerpic, avatar and get thier own achievement points.

I will call a tie if you can go to Home or do anything else a PS3 can do (surf the web perhaps) while in the middle of a game without exiting out of said game.

Yeah, the Xbox always does that. When you sign in you go back to the main menu to choose what you want to do as you, not a guest. This rant has no real grounds for a rant, you screwed yourself over by not logging in.

I am the opposite. I would rather have a score than a trophy. I guess that comes from the old days when getting higher scores were what gamin was all about.
