*Russ Pitts, the editor-in-cheif has commented on (his speculations of) Yahtzee's behalf, stating that he's sure Ben would rather have us spend our money on games ourselves, as well as we should watch the front page for a new ZP thing, and comment on ZP's hundredth's episode when it comes out. I thank him personally for this, and state that any posts beyond this will just be fun speculation.*

If wikipedia is to be believed, Ben's birthday is May 24th, and back in April I had an Idea.

"Hey, Yahtzee always complains about either games being unoriginal, or on occasion, not being able to hate them enough. What if I went on them 'interwabs' and organized a present giving consisting of games he will either love, hate, or at least appreciate the originality of in a great big Yahtzee box."

Now, although his birthday has passed, I feel now I'll have enough time to actually organize this.

So, to sum it all up quickly, all of us here picking out games like Katamari Damacy (original) and MK vs DC universe (hatable) to put in a great big Yahtzee-box and ship it to Australia via Kangaroo Mail© for Sr. Croshaw to oggle.

Thoughts?

*Edit Too many Edits*
We need to work out how exactly one would go about donating. Possibly, mailing the game to me or whoever we get to be the third party source, or the same with the money.

*Edit 4*
The region locked problem has been brought up, and it is requested that if you are donating a game, to please make it PAL, and not NTSC U/C, or to just donate money to buy said game in said type.

*Edit 3*
We'll need someone to design and decorate the box, and someone for the card. I suggest an old Yahtzee Box, but pimped. Takers?

*Edit 2*
Send me a message if you are willing to donate. Either a specific game, or just in general.

Definates:
Branston Pickle: (Donor Needed!)
Katamari Damacy (Namco): Donater, Thespian42
Vodka (Donor Needed!)

Possibles:
Beyond Good and Evil
Disgaea
E.T. for the Atari
Fallout 1 and 2 bundle
Final Fantasy VI
Kirby 64
Legends Of Dragoons
Sly Cooper (This is on debate)
Superman 64 (Shudder)
The Longest Journey/Dreamfall
Whiplash

(Also, we should avoid giving him copies of games we know he already has.)

What a great idea. you should send him Knights Of The Old Republic, a truly excellent game to lift his spirits.

Very good. I'll need suggestions on games, as well as people willing to donate them, and time to have them shipped to me in a Decorated box. Either me or a willing, trust-able third party, it doesn't matter to me.

Also, we'll need to make him one hell of a card.

To what purpose? He'd probably just ***** at you for not sending the console-compatible 8th wonder of the world.

You do know he really doesn't like his fans.

Sending him this may make him hunt you down and kill you to death.

You could always send him the gaming Guinness book of records. I'm sure he'd appreciate that, being a critic and all :)

EDIT: I should probably point out that this is sarcastic. I don't really see a reason to send a game critic a birthday card. It just seems......weird....

Well, yeah, but it would be a nice gesture of appreciation. I'm sure he'd be thankful of at least the effort.

You want to give someone who plays games for a living, games for his birthday. That's just cruel.

Good idea. But, as important as suggestions are, we'll also need people willing to donate. I'll probably get a list going of games, as well as people willing to donate next to them.

I say we dig up a couple copies of E.T. for Atari and send them to him. Happy Birthday! Here's a little present that might help discourage you from ever having another birthday.

I already think he's played KOTOR, he's mentioned it in some reviews and seems to have some knowledge about it. Oh, and he always finds things to complain about, that's his job, so don't expect a "Thank You" cake. And it's hard to get into the mind of Mr. Croshaw, you can't really know what he wants.

Yeah, well as long as he gets it I suppose. The most that can be expected is a mention, and I'm okay with that.

He used to way back when, but then he started reading the comments in his videos and well....you know how that goes.

Good idea. But may I suggest that something totally random and non-gaming related be thrown in there as well? Mayhaps a book. . .no, to close to gaming thanks to guides. I'll let you make that call. Can't make his present 100% completely gaming; it'll be like sending the graduate homework. ^^ have fun with that, and hope Yahtzee doesn't see this Forum.

Good idea. What could we include besides just games, a card, and a fancy decorated box, though?
