Considering how far we've come since 1000 years ago, and considering that the vast majority of that development has taken place in the last 2-300 years, I would say that there is likely absolutely no way that we can even conceive of what the universe will be like in 1000 years. Anything that I come up with, I reconsider and realize that it will probably be sooner than that.

But what I want to see is super-kick-ass-cheerios, shiny suits of power armour, some sort of funky full immersion gaming system, a computer in my brain, evil space goblins and some way for me to own an army comprised of jessica alba clones whose only aim in life is to wrestle in jelly and make me bacon sandwiches.
Oh and A SECOND SERIES OF FIREFLY!!!

Solar, but not interstellar travel. Genetic enhancements, cloning, intellectual property battles over modified "cloned" humans. Terrestrial colonial independence conflicts and digital nation conflicts. Digital being suffrage debates.

I reckons in 1000 years will be somewhere similar to where humanity was a 1000 years ago. come on the dark ages 
Well i reckon that some of us that are alive now will still be alive then (look ip aubrey de grey's lecture). Colonization with terraforming of mars probable, large scale asteroid mining probable. Massive space stations widespread in the solar system (a necessity looking at population growth) We'll probably have sent a few probes to the nearest stars also.

What I really want know is who will be the dominent species in 1000 years? Will it be the Robots, the Ape-men, or the Marshians?
The Earth by my estimates is about 14,000 years old and when Jesus was crucified (33 AD) he said multiple times that the end is coming very soon. Chances are nigh that the world will last even 300 years more in my book.Monkfish Acc. post=18.72795.773094 said:

I think in 1000 years we will have robots doing our "jobs" for us better than we ever could. With this ideas will be the goal in life, which will be transfered over the internet system of that time. This will ofcourse cause the whole worlds barriers to break down leading to no more religion, country, color, ect. . In time we will have virtual machines that connect us through beems of light entering our eyes (much like lasers) and we will truly be immersed in the virtual enviroment (brain doesn't know the diference between what is real and what is perceived).

The hands will elongate in order to more easily use the "controller/KB". The eyes pupils will expand to allow more info to enter the cerebral cortex. The ears will withdrawl for no need to amplify sounds (earphones). And with all the information at our fingertips (evolved fingertips) our brains size will expand in order to absorb as much as possible....
