The Zombie Apocalypse has come

Many people always joke or talk about what they would do if the Zombie Apocalypse ever came and I was wondering what you guys would do if it actually did.

Personally, I would find my nearest military base (let's assume it has been abandonned but left stock due to international panic). After raiding the base for supplies I would find friends, family and any other healthy indiviudals. I would then empty out a few supermarkets, nurseries and farm for indefinite food supplies. I would then find a skyscraper an with my band of survivors, destory any access to the upper levels and hold out there.

Personally I wouldn't worry about having any ideas of my own, I'd just search The Escapist for "zombie apocalypse" and quickly write down all the advice I could find. Then I'd make my living selling the resulting War And Peace-sized book to other desperate survivors.

Just go out to the country. If you get out of the city, and make it out into some country side it would be very easy to survive out there. Live off the land. Just have a secure house, not many zombies are going to find you/ever make it to a secluded house in the country side. Even if they do, you'd be more than capable to handle a few zombies at this point.

Get a few friends and some girls because a bunch of guys alone in the apocalypse wouldn't be a good idea.
Them go here's there food, some water, strong walls and big fances... And stay there for a while thinking in the next step.

I'd make a thread about it on the Escapist. That seems to be what everyone else does....

Then run away very fast.

I would go to my nearest CostCo (which has tonnes of food and other stuff in bulk, and gas for the chainsaws) and it happens to be right next to a Home Depot (which has building materials and chainsaws). So I'm all set.

Firstly I would like to say that this has been posed many times in multiple forums, including this one. Second, no military base would be left abandoned and don't you think that many of the supermarkets would already be raided for supplies at the first signs of an outbreak?

For the OT: I would grab all my guns and ammo, fill up as many containers as I could with food and water, and while everyone else is heading to a hospital or the nearest military base, I would be heading straight out for the desert to a predestined rendezvous point where I will meet friends and family and we will build shelter in the desert, far away from civilization. If you can't tell, my friends and I have had serious discussions about this.

Get some fishing gear, water purification supplies, Get everyone healthy together that I could, and go out on a boat somewhere until things settled down (i.e. the horrible biological qualities of zombies doing themselves in).

Everyone says, 'I will raid a supermarket' and all that jazz. But I'm pretty sure every other person in your town/city is going to be doing the same thing.

And we must assume that everyone on the internet is in good shape for running from the dead. Have the survival skills necessary to live off the land, no more microwave dinners...
And can operate a firearm without killing themselves; and actually killing the undead.

And actually got out in time; I'm sure the government would have the military trying to evacuate everyone. How does your plan to hole up in your house work if you have soldiers breaking in trying to get you out?

Me; im in fair shape...fair shape. But I don't have all those survival skills, I know people who do...join up with them I guess. And I ain't no sharpshooter or anything but I'm a okay shot. Plus I practice archery, but I don't think thats the most convenient way to kill zombies.

Odds of survival for something like this isn't really great for an averge person. I do live in a rural area though; family used to keep weapons here but their in a pawn shop now, we had to hock them. Which sucks because an Ak-47 would be rather nice; God bless America, 'cause I love my guns! But we don't have enough food for more than a week.

Diagnoses: SCREWED

What are we talking about here? As in if a zombie apocalypse had actually started up?

Well then, I just wait about a week. Ya see, human beings like killing things. If even 1 zombies escaped into a city undetected. The instant that city was taken over. Anybody who could and more would go down there and shoot every last one.

Oh, and the army isn't gonna start killing every last person on Earth because "They may be infected." So yeah, Zombie apocalypse is no big deal.

Well, I have a girl I want to marry and her daughter needs taking care of too, so I'd do the whole Rick Grimes thing, load up on weapons, food, and tools, borrow an abandoned car, and trek the 2k miles to them. At this point, I wouldn't have anything else to live for than to see that my "family" is ok.

Well, I have a shotgun that my stepdad left after he moved out, so I have that. On top of that, there are a nice, large set of mountains about five miles south of me, so I could head there if it all goes to shit. Plus, my good buddy lives close by, so we already have (jokingly, or not) decided that we meet up, gather our ammunition together, and head up them mountains for as long as possible.

I'm bored a lot.

There are plenty of books, games, videos, movies, websites, and forums that I can use to find out how to survive a zombie apocalypse. I wouldn't worry unless I find myself without a weapon.
