Assuming that they haven't already reached a "safe point" (and assuming they don't exist and the world/continent atleast is in anarchy) I'd gather as many friends as I can. Them because of trust. None of them are particularly great at zombie surviving skills (some can shoot and all that) but I'm such a socially dependent person that if I didn't have them around I'd get depressed WAY quicker than I would wi total strangers. Don't get me wronthough, if I stumble upon some elite sniper or whoever I'd let them come with us. But preference.
Actual plan wise, in grade 11 me and a friend came up with a plan, we haven't talked since then, so it wouldn't happen with him, but the idea is the same. We'd find someone who can fly an airplane (big enough to hold everyone) and fly to San Francisco, when we get there, we'd take a boat and go to Alkatraz, because there's no land access and unless the zombies are super athleates they can't swim. If we ever need supplies we can take our boat back to land and scavenge.
Back up plan. I was in San Diego or someplace in Cali. and it's on the ocean, and at one point there's a bridge/highway style road out to an island pretty far off shore. It's really nice and there's a lot more... Liveable buildings there than on Alkatraz. There is land access though. But it's defendable with the right equipment.
But in seriousness, I'd just barricade my home and fill it with supplies. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Last Monday we were the 2nd or 3rd coldest pace in the world. And last winter the temperature hit -50 Celcius (very unusual granted. But it still hits -20 to -30 regularly in winter) so waiting it out wouod be beat.
