Stay in my house and panic and go insane.
Which, by the way, is what's gonna happen to most of you too.
well, i'll panic, wake up everyone else in my house, and the neighbors. grab some knives and other blunt objects (like some golf clubs and wooden swords), grab the canned food, and hoof it out to the suburbs. from there, we will plan a better staging point to hold out until the military wipes out the zombies, because there is no way in hell the US military, with the support of the national guard, and the well armed police forces of every major city (one of which i live in) will be incapable of killing every single zombie on this continent and then some.
You're lying to yourself if you think you could handle it so well. Soldiers who are trained for war come back with PTSD, how do you think an average citizen will handle people around him, some most likely being friends and family, being eaten alive?
Despite what nearly every zombie apocalypse movie and video game ever might tell you, being surrounded by constant death and always being in danger will not go easy on your emotional side.
well, i figured i would calm down once im in the burbs, away from everyone, with family at my side. but what i mentioned before, grabbing knives and blunt shit, then running, thats what i figure would be my panic and run reaction

28 days later zombies
There are no zombies in 28 days later. I think you should leave.
And there are no trolls on these forums, oh wait.
I wasn't trolling. You can't say "are the zombies like things that aren't zombies".
Romero's "zombies" aren't true zombies either then.
Romero zombies are zombies, they are the original zombies. In 28 days later, the people are not dead or trying to eat people, they are infected with a virus that increases their rage to high levels, they are more like Reavers from firefly than Zombies.

I would go raid the small local hardware store first(because everyone else will be raiding the big stores), try and get some other supplies or find someone who does, and find a tallish building to barricade myself (and any others) in.(it doesn't help that I live in a city that doesn't have a lot of particularly tall buildings)

If I can, I will also try to find someone named Grif. Finding someone with that name is essential for most of my zombie plans.

A zombie outbreak in my area wouldn't last long. Heavily armed populace+large military base=dead zombies all around. In the mean time I'd lock the doors, close the curtains, and keep the car in the garage with a full tank and supplies just in case. I've got a variety of weapons and am in the process of building an ammo stockpile so I'd be good on that front.

Just because Sarge has thirty seven different plans involving Grif, that doesn't mean any of them are good and that you should borrow from them. And especially don't borrow the thirty-seventh plan.

You've got to ask yourself: is killing Grif worth actively sticking yourself in mortal danger? You've got to find that point of zen between the two priorities.

Simply enough, i live in the most zombie safe area i could imagine. In the middle of but-fuck no-where, and the ratio of guns to people is 3:1. We got farmland and wild life for food as well. it will be fun to not have to deal with tourists anymore... one of the few perks of almost everyone being dead.

That's why he's only essential to most of my plans, and it's only six or seven of my plans that involve him and half of those involve using him as a mobile shield with a gun.

Unless Night of the Living Dead was made in the early half of the 20th and Romero knew Zora Hurston and her work in Haiti, no. It isn't. He's not even the first movie maker to address the zombie as a figure of cinematic terror.

The Magic Island (1929)
White Zombie (1939)
I Walked with a Zombie (1949)

Also, Romero himself took a lot of inspiration from the Richard Mathison "I am Legend" book and "Night's" whole style was lifted from the film "The Last Man on Earth". He also stated on the record that he NEVER called the creatures "zombies" until Dawn of the Dead.

And VIRUS?! Hell, Night of the Living Dead's, the original zombies as you claim, weren't the result of a virus, they were the result of radiation from space probe. Only when "Return of the living Dead" came out did the whole chemical weapon/virus angle come into play.

So no, Romero's zombies are not the original either.

Do NOT try to argue zombie flicks and voudoun occult with me, son. You will lose.
I'm aware Romero's films aren't the first zombie movies, but when we talk about zombies, they are the ones we talk about, they are the original in a sense that they are the foundation of what zombies are today. Like elves, when you are having a discussion about medieval fantasy, elves are referencing Tolkien elves, even though there are other elves before them.

I don't know what you are getting at with the virus thing, I said the 28DL infected were infected by a virus that elevated their rage levels, so you made your own stuff up on that one.

Also, I am aware of voodoo zombies, again, when taking about zombie invasions, they are obviously not the ones people are talking about.

And what kind of threat is that? I sure will argue zombie films with you seeing as how you completely took what I said out of context and for one part, imagined I said something and then argued...against something I didn't even say... I'm pretty sure I am safe in the arguing with you category. And besides, I wasn't trying to argue with you, you were the one that gave your opinion when I was quoting someone else.

If it happened now - grab crowbar, gas mask, thick clothing, barricade myself in my house or the church down the road (unless they're coming out of the graves too, in which I would be fucked). Church's graveyard backs onto my old primary school, so church gets overrun? No problem, I'll just run like hell for 20 metres to the school!

If it happened in a month - will be in a 6th floor flat, probably without a crowbar (though I might have a mallet), block off the stairs but devise a way of getting out for supplies using the lift.
