You are the leader of a squad. At the moment you and your men are pinned down by a sniper armed with an anti-material rifle, yet you do not know where he is firing from. Your men have taken cover behind cars and concrete barriers and are in danger of being picked off if they move from it. The windows and doors to the buildings along the street have been boarded up, denying access. You are being told by the commanding officer to advance to a location several miles down the street, yet doing so at the moment would be suicide.

Air and artillery support is unavailable at the moment and reinforcements would become prey to the sniper as well.

Every second that passes puts you and your men in increasing danger. You must make a decision fast.

What do you do?

Select cover down the street, pop smoke, advance to cover. Rinse and repeat.

Anti-material rifles are, say, 50. cal sniper rifles. Originally designed to either eliminate or disable targets such as vehicles, and machinery (as opposed to soldiers).

A sniper rifle that fires a round large and fast enough to pass through any material up to a certain thickness or hardness.

A good example is the M82A1 Barret .50 Cal

Oh. Well than I'd be like "Everyone run out at once, He can't kill us all." Then I'd say "Go" then stay, and watch as my squadron ran out, then tell my commanding officer that they didn't listen to me, and ran out on their own.

If i had my own sniper i would get a volunteer to run out and make himself a target if the enemy sniper takes the bait my own sniper has a chance to get his location if he doesn't take it, well then i have man a little further down the street who can spot for us, The sniper cant watch two targets at once.

A single well garrisoned sniper is perfect capable of stopping the advance of anentire regiment. This HAS happened before

Assuming we have smoke grenades, I'd toss a few between us and the most likely locations of the enemy sniper, and then dash for the nearest street corner and find a safe way through buildings or backstreets/alleys to reach the objective.

I'd say hell no, you go. And then keep bitching until they give up and sent someone else.
I'm not wasting my life, I'm the only healing class they have.

Smoke screen could be an effective way to advance unless the sniper is using infared.
other than that I could say blind firing in every direction could be used to make the sniper seek cover, but your just guessing at that point. The truth is unless you have some way of knowing the snipers locale your f*cked. In order to that you may have to sacrifice a man, or at least a helmet. Even then unless your squad has a rifle your still boned.
EDIT: Damn Ninja'd whil playing CoD.

Being the hide-behind-cover fighter I am in games, I'd stay put and wait until either:

1. The sniper runs out of ammo and/or patience and/or will to live

or 2. The gunfire alerts someone nearby and they either a) come to our rescue, hurrah! or b) become the bait to draw the sniper out
