Theory:The first Final Fantasy game you play becomes your favourite in the series.Agree?Disagree?

I played my first Final Fantasy past the nostalgia age, and I expected it to be like Kingdom Hearts, and it was FFXII, so this definitely doesn't apply to me. My favorite is FFX. I think your first game in a series will be liked more than it would normally, but not be necessarily your favorite, as this thread has clearly shown.

I first played final fantasy 7, but I will defend to the death the Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the best rpg's ever.

The first FF I played was FFVIII, and my favorite is actually XII, followed closely by X. I like XII for the characters and gameplay, and I like X for a little bit of everything.

FFVIII itself is, well...meh. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. I would've liked it so much more if not for the damn junctioning system.

I played FFX first, then VII, then VIII, then IX, XI, and Then XII, then V, and now I and II, and Tactics. XII is by far my favorate

Since Final Fantasy VIII is my favourite in the series and it was the first one I played, i believe this to be true. Kinda like «there´s no true love like the first», y´know? What about you? Tell us what was the first FF game you played. Is it your favourite? Why?

8 and yes, I think 8 is my favorite even though, if I were honest, I would say X is the most overall worthy of praise (in terms of mechanics/design/story/etc.)

The first I played was FF 2/(4), the second was FF 3(6), however my favorite is still FF 3, FF 2 is great, and I just replayed it again a few months ago, but it's never claimed the top place in my heart.

The only FF's I've played are FF 1 and 2 on the Gameboy Advance. I actually really liked them, especially 2. But I would never want to try one of the new ones... I'm open to some things from Japan (I casually collect Domo-Kuns) but a lot of it is exactly the kind of thing I hate. From what I've seen of Final Fantasy cut scenes, I'd be pissed off the entire time that I'm playing it. So I guess I agree with the first FF I played being my favourite, but only because of technological limitations that let me play them.

The first Final Fantasy I "really" played was FF7, and it is definately not my favorite, I enjoy it, but it's not a favorite.

My real "favorite" Final Fantasy is split between 6, 9 or 12. Can't decide which really, I love the world and voice acting in 12, I love the world and characters in 9 and I love 6, but it's so very old and nostalgia and charm doesn't entirely cover up its age.

Well, FFVII was the first one I played, and it's certainly my favorite, in that it's one of my favorite games and comes from a series that I could otherwise take or leave.

Nope. My first FF game was X, and that particular game is second to last for me, with VIII being the very bottom. My top 5, in no particular order are: Tactics Advance, Tactics A2, VII, XII and XIII.

My first Final Fantasy was Number 3 I believe for the Game Boy, my favourite so far have been 4&5.
