Theory:The first Final Fantasy game you play becomes your favourite in the series.Agree?Disagree?

Since Final Fantasy VIII is my favourite in the series and it was the first one I played, i believe this to be true. Kinda like «there´s no true love like the first», y´know? What about you? Tell us what was the first FF game you played. Is it your favourite? Why?

I do love the game dearly, but it is NOT my favorite by any measure. Out of 14... its prolly about top 5 or so.

I do know there is that pattern out there, but Its hard to say if its fact or if its specious reasoning based on coincidence.

No sir, I beg to differ. The first five FF games I played, in order, were 6, 1, 7, 8, 9. And even though none of these games are Final Fantasy Tactics, it is still my favourite.

The first Final Fantasy I played was Mystic Quest on the SNES. The first numerical FF I played was VIII (I think). My favorite FF game however, was FFIX.

First one I played was technically 8, but I only played about 3 hours before I played 10. 10 is tied for favourite with 12, which would be.... maybe my 5th FF game?
But, to add to that, 10 and 12 are really the only ones that I've put more than 5 or 6 hours into. The other ones I either put down and forgot about, or just wasn't motivated to play.

Played XII first. It's probably my least favorite.

The first I beat was VII, and even that's not my favorite. It's up there though.

The first one i played was 3 on the DS, an though i still haven't gotten to finish 4, its probably my favorite out of the series.

Iv got a lot of catching up to do though, i haven't played that many FF games.

Makes sense, 12 was the first one I really put some time into, followed by 10 and those are my favorites.

False. The first Final Fantasy I played was VII, but I think it's the most overrated and overdone of the series. My personal favourite is VI.

It's true for me. The first one I played was X, and it's still my favourite. Admittedly, I've only played VII, X and XII, but X is definately my favourite.

My first was Final Fantasy X and I hated it then a good friend of mine let me borrow Final Fantasy 9 and I love it.

The cheesy melodrama irritated me with FFX.

Nah, the first FF I was exposed to was US2 (or 4) and then I went on to play 7. I hated it the first time and didn't get far. Moving on, I played a bunch of other RPGs such as Chrono Trigger and FF6 before returning to finally beat FF7.

i believe ff5 or mystic quest were my first neither of which are my favorite so i say you are wrong. 6 will always be my favorite.

I would like to concur with the "no" crowd, here. I played VII first, yet IX is my favorite.
