Cutbacks (blame it on the global recession or something...) have meant that there can now only be one website, and the world turns to you to decide what that site should be. What do you choose? Do you let everyone continue to shop online (amazon.com?), use mapping sites (google maps?) or watch p-... puppies on YouTube? A tough decision has to be made.

...

Personally, for all its flaws, it'd have to be Wikipedia. I could still, sort of, communicate with people and have my own bad version of a Facebook page by using accounts - and education would be secure for the forseeable future.

I'd pick The Escapist of it updated on the weekends.

Since it does not I'll have to go with Cracked.

It's between Wikipedia, BBC News and the Escapist, the first two because I get a lot of information from them and the latter because it's the only discussion and RP forum I use. I'd plump for Wiki if they set up a roleplaying section on their site ;-)

Youtube.

No other place has such entertainment value, nostalgia value, stupid comments, music, tv episodes.......eeeeeeeeeeeeeetc! Hell. The hard to come by nostalgia trips from old tv shows is probably enough reason for me.

I would have to say Reuters. I like them as a news source, and I wouldn't really mind if they're the last ones left.

Yet, no one has mentioned a porn tube site...

Wikipedia. Even though its still not perfect because wikipedias information invariably stops at a level of overview on some important topics like medicines and sciences, but goes into disgusting levels of details on friviolous topics like Proffessional wrestler bios and transformers history.

And I say this before anyone says Google. Google is basically useless as a stand alone site, Unless you like endlessly clicking dead links. Perhaps if you count every google property under that and count in youtube, because Youtube also has the potential for educational purposes too like wikipedia... Just on a shade tree level usually.

I'll third this. I can spend all day on YouTube. And with all the other sites gone I'm sure I'd be able to find anything I wanted (after hours of searching)!

Because history is more important than social media. Also it'd be really easy to still use protocols like UseNet & IRC to do the whole social interaction thing, the end of websites doesn't mean the end of the internet.

Google Search. Because I'm an epic troll on occasion.
What would you search if there was only one website? There wouldn't be anything else to find...

I would say the escapist or wikipedia.

To mis-quote Dr Perry Cox.

"If there was only one website in the world it would be www.bringbacktheporn.com"

The escapist, without this site I don't know what I'd do with my life D:
