There is a 61 AI Civilization Battle Royale happening on reddit (and no thread?)

Over the hills and far away is a website called reddit. From there, user T-Pangolin has modded Civilization 5 for a giant AI only domination only game.

In this game, there were 43 available civs, with 5 victory conditions. However, for this game there are 61 nations (many modded in) and domination only (so, last team standing).
About twice a week, a new part goes up summarizing 20 turns or so in this game, and a few days after this happens, selected mods or users weigh in to rank the strongest and weakest in the game.

oof I can only imagine how long some of these turns are going to get later on...60+ civs all trying to calculate their turns, brutal on the rig.

Any idea what the settings are besides having so many civs? They seem to be producing units very quickly.

that and alot of them, I can't remember off the top of my head but it seemed like quite a few of the civs just had tiles on tiles stacked with long range units, you'd think the maintenance would be weighing in on some of them heavily.

I love watching things like this play out, so much potential for all sorts of crazy things to happen. There have already been some noticeable reversals in fortune, that seemed crazy going from part 1 to 7.

I'm rooting for the Sioux and Norway. I'm also still just waiting for Yakutia to do something with all its wealth and power.

A bunch of mods to keep it less agonizing on the processor, and some for extra civilizations and new religions.

The most important one is extended Research times. It makes the game run at a standard speed, but makes technology take as long to research as it would on Marathon. This means that cities have a load of time to just spam units for warfare, and instead of, say, Theology taking 10 turns to research, it takes 30. Which is good, because it gives nations that favour early warfare like the Huns time where their unique abilities can affect several of its neighbours.

I'm rooting for the Sioux and Norway. I'm also still just waiting for Yakutia to do something with all its wealth and power.

Norway's going to massacre the Swedes soon, and that's coming from an Ireland-Portugal supporter.

Btw what's people's opinion of Vietnam? Because of their successful conquests and lime green colour I'm sure to mistake them for Vanilla Civ's China later.

I'm having trouble how well or not team Canada is doing (hey there's nothing wrong with picking Local Sports Team), is America doing better or worst then it? Also, why is Texas its own faction?

Well, US is fucked. They have some of the worst uniques and bonuses in that game....as do most of the European powers now that i think on it (escept for recently buffed Germany, Venice, and Austria)

I think this is better suited for Civ 5. Imagine the Civ. 4 stacks of doom in an all AI game of this size.
