The only thing more irritating than hardcore Twilight fans is hardcore Twilight haters. I don't understand, do you people feel threatened by this shit? I'm not going to claim that the books are harmless, because I think they reveal a pretty horriffic part of our culture, but seriously, I'm perfectly happy ignoring it, and I don't get to, because I constantly have fourteen-year-old boys coming along screaming about how horrible these books are and how stupid the people reading them are in order to hide how hurt they are that girls their age are so wrapped up in these characters that are completely unlike them.

It's not a matter of being threatened. Some guys hate it in a typical attempt to stave off "the gay," and some like me have a legitimate reason. Actually it's not even a half bad book, cept Bella's a shallow ****.
...And what, exactly, is this legitimate reason?

Could I get that in a big flashing neon sign, possibly with air raid sirens blaring out of it?

Then maybe you should go down there and tell them this yourself.... you seem to have alot of pent up anguish for these people.

or

Just accept the fact that you are not the epitomy of human nature and that others are going to like things you don't, now matter how bad their or your taste is.

Not a fan of Twilight, but I never read the books so I'm not going to criticize them.
There is one thing I am certain of: I have ramen, it tastes good, and I'm going to enjoy it.

While I will admit that I am not a Twilight fan, I do have to say the unforgiving nature those of us take in regards to this subject is fierce and somewhat unfair. I mean, I read Harry Potter and was given flack by Christian classmates for being a Wizard and all that crap the brainwashed youth in those houses will spout at you and the same can be said for this very situation.

For what its worth, let the overcrazed Twilight fans have their fun. No one was down my neck when I waited an hour and a half to see The Dark Knight last summer. The last thing I will do is criticize a person for liking Twilight. What I DO criticize is Stephanie Meyer's lack of intergrity to writing as well as a overwhelming lack of knowledge when it comes to the physiological nature behind vampires.

I'd like to bring back an old slogan I found a while back: "Edward Cullen: Making us regular guys look like complete assholes since 2001".

Not to mention she is really self obsessed, seeing as how she refuses to release the next book cause somebody leaked a page or something lame liek that.

Uh, what physiological nature?

They're fictional creatures. They don't exist.

The aforementioned shallow cuntery. Allow me to explain...
Yes, I gave the book an honest chance. Writing wise, it's about Harry Potter level, and I fucking adore HP so it passed there. I used to dislike Ed for bein a possesive tool, but upon reflection I remembered that ALL vampires are possessive tools. Vampire society is just a bunch of possessive tools rules by the most possessive tool.

My big beef with the book is Bella. Within 30 pages she turns down three perfectly fine guys. Now, this is understandable on its own, she's kind of a downer, might not want a relationship. I've been there myself. but then the "stunning(as they insisted on reminding me)" Edward gives her a look, and she develops the vaginal equivalent to Niagra falls. It's not even a good look, or a funny look, it's a look of pure hatred. But she's obsessed. Because he's pretty and exciting. And as the sort of guy who's seen the friendzone more than a drunk sees the toilet bowl, this is something I can't just let go.
It's not even an aknowledged flaw, part of the theme. We're just expected to run with this as acceptable, like this typical example of female stupidity(cause the spoilers I've been given tell me he's drama to the extreme) is an honest to god example of real love.

Edit: And I don't mind the whole sparkly thing so much either. Fantasy is flexible, and anybody who argues one set of lore is doing it wrong. Just wanted to make sure I didn't et roped in with those tards.

Bram Stoker may have thought up a psychological nature for Dracula when he wrote Dracula. Unless he was going off the psychological nature of Vlad the Impaler.

Physiological=/=Psychological. They're two dramatically different things.

True...

However, if I am reading a book that has vampires in it, I want them to act like...I don't know...actual vampires. I'm not referring to characteristics, I am referring to the sparkling, the fact that Edward (from what I interpret) walks around in sunlight and if the Wikipedia article I read has any merit, he goes to like the Carribean in one of the later books.

I worded it awkwardly, I admit, but when Edward and his family defy all the logical components of being a vampire, its not worth the effort.

Does that clarify what I meant?

Oh damn...sorry, I didn't realize I mispelt the word. My bad.

I bet Noah said that on the first day it started raining. :) Haha, for real though he's right, we just have to wait.

Also, semi-related. Has anyone else noticed how many more books, movies, TV-series's there are about vampires now? Does anyone have an original idea anymore?!

No, because (as usual) you can't seem to grasp that there is no such thing as a True Vampire.

Never has been. Never will be.

Nope. Watching movies from the nineties makes me sad when I realize they just aren't that deep anymore...

OK, first things first.

Now, to the matter at hand.
Deal with it. Every big movie premier has people like this.
Twilight is the same due to the huge teenage girl fanbase which hides the sane fan base who doesn't follow the movie like a religion.
People like me, for example. Liked the first movie, gonna watch the second when I can, won't read the books, won't scream 'I love Cullen!!!' as I do not, being a man and won't let fangirls drag down all the fans who aren't as obsessive about Twilight.
Twitards are scourge of the earth!!!
