These De Blob 2 Ads are getting VERY annoying.

I don't mind the ads at all but they continue to pop up on EVERY page that I open on this site.

And when I mean pop up, I mean take up half of the god damned screen.

Edit: OK after viewing the image above I can see that being very rage inducing. I never experienced that type of ad but I would be pissed if it happened multiple times.

I've never had a problem with ads on this site until now. The ads on the top and sides of the website are fine. They aren't intrusive and allow the Escapist to give us all this content for free. Hell even the ads before videos are fine. They're only a minute long at the longest (most being more like 30 seconds) and once again allow the Escapist to be a free site.

The ads popping up in the middle of your screen and forcing you to close them before you can do anything else? Those are just god-damn annoying. For once I'm actually hoping that the Escapist gets rid of them. They're overly intrusive, pop up on every page, and just imagine the poor people with slow internet.

Please get rid of those ads Escapist. Please.

Edit: After posting I scrolled up to the top of the page. Guess what was there. One of those adds. And what happens when it's up for too long? It starts playing a video. Bullshit.

I agree totally. I understand the site needs to advertise to bring in revenue, but all the shit going on is getting excessive. Commercials on the videos? Understandable. Banners and backgrounds? Understandable. Splash ads on every page? WHy not just redirect us to an advertising page after every click like IGN does?

Seriously, how much is enough? At what point to we say that this is too much and the Admins need to back off and find a different way to gain revenue? No one is clicking on these ads because they're genuinely interested in this game(Okay, SOME might). It's all accidental redirection if ANYONE clicks it.

We can't tell you how to get rid of them, it's against the terms of use.

OP:I don't care about the cluttered right and left on each escapist page but wtf is this bullying people into premium membership? This is worse than those ads that dropped down if you waved your mouse over the image.

I think everyone that isn't getting these ads is either a premium member or their browser doesn't support that type of flash.
