That mod was just trolling that person, ad blockers are a wonderful thing. All they did was suggest a remedy to a problem many people (myself included) are having with the forum. It's no different then if someone says the text is too small, a technical problem that needed an answer.

holy crap how wide is your monitor?

It's actually 3 22" monitors that Im using nvidia surround, so my resolution is 5760x1080

Don't like them but still want to visit the site, become a Premium Member. Not only will it remove the ads but it will show your support to The escapist.

Edit: as for me, I just click the "Close" button on them.

OP:I don't care about the cluttered right and left on each escapist page but wtf is this bullying people into premium membership? This is worse than those ads that dropped down if you waved your mouse over the image.

I think everyone that isn't getting these ads is either a premium member or their browser doesn't support that type of flash.

I havent got them and Im using Opera & Chrome.

Lol, no the mod was not trolling the user. It's against the rules to talk about add-blockers or recomend them, etc. And yes you can get suspended/banned for it. Yes the mods really enforce this; it has happened before. Because the escapist makes money off of ads and so on. But of course they can't stop you from using them... just talking about them, so, yeah...

Yeah, get rid of these. Also, get rid of the ads that fill up the whole screen during videos and do this crazy de-sync thing where you hear overlapping videos playing POORLY.

I already got put on probation for it and smiled because it proved my point. The ad was making the people of the escapist unhappy so it was for the escapists benefit that I cheered on the adblockers. People were seriously not coming to the escapist over it.
