The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, even though most people I've met who've played it claims it be too buggy.
That, and the most recent Alone in the Dark. Just like it for some reason.

Probably The Force Unleashed 2. I thought it was an improvement over the first one. Well except that it was probably a quarter of the length.

Drakengard 1 & 2
Kane and Lynch is my dark little secret
Alpha Protocol to some degree
Everything Westwood studios have put out
Black and White 1 & 2
Haze
And lastly, this one I shouldn't probably say, but I regard Warrior Within as the best "others said it sucked but I loved it" category.

EDIT: Oh yeah! STALKER was awesome and so was Dantes inferno.

Final Fantasy 12
Nice to see another one that likes FF XII. :D
It may not be my favorite FF game, but it is high on the list. 4th seat out of all that I've played, and I've played most of the numeral ones. (Only ones I haven't played of the numeral ones are II, III, IV, XI and XIV.)

I also like Dragon Age 2, which seems to be a somewhat not liked game.

Beyond those two, I have no idea which games that I've played are disliked or not.

Prototype, loved every single second of that game, still not entirely sure why people hated it so much

I really only liked the theme for Legendary. It was a pretty dumb game, but then again, I never finished it.

I did quite like the GameBoy Advanced game, Van Helsing. It was shit, but fun.

Sonic Unleashed- Flawed but still fun as heck. (Actually, most 3D Sonic games in general were really fun, yet most people seem to hate Sonic games)

Wii Fit- Most gamers wouldn't even admit to playing it, much less enjoying it.

Shaq Fu- A unique fighter to say the least. Versus mode was actually pretty cool when you figured out how to play it. The single player ruined the game because you can only play Shaq.

Dynasty and Samurai Warriors games.

Although I do admit that the Dynasty Warriors series in particular is going through some tough and experimental times.
Still fun to play.

I would have to say Vanguard Bandits. Sure most of the writing isn't great, buts its still really fun.

Oh, tons. Too Human, Kane and Lynch 1 and 2, Final Fantasy 12 (Only FF game [not including spin-offs and side-titles] that I've actually liked, and apparently everyone hates it.). I'm sure there's more, but I only have my PC collection in front of me at the moment, and I can't remember my console collection all that well. Suffice to say, I don't care about other people's opinions. Just my own.

EDIT: Oh, and Dynasty Warriors 6. Even most DW fans I know hate that game.

I loved FF12. People complained about the Gambit system without realising what it was there for.
So much better than 10, which reeked of toilet piss.

Also, Alpha Protocol.

So many people were playing it like Mass Effect and then complaining the game wasn't working properly... *facepalm*

Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons Of Liberty

I know, I know, the bad reception is mainly from players due to the character change, however that has still stained the games reputation.....

I believe that this game is literally a work art.....so much consideration went into the psychology of it all...so much effort went into trying to TALK to the player, and giving a message to them through the game.....(something that is only NOW being regarded and used so that we can shorten the gap between games and art)

but as you know people can't concentrate for 5 seconds without having boobies flashed at them or without seeing their big macho hero on the T.V screen......

Very under-rated and a game much before its time...if u have it, play it again and read between the lines (find the symbolism). If u dont, BUY IT!

LOL sorry bout the rant :p ahem...moving on......probably another game I enjoyed was

Final Fantasy VII : dirge of cerebrus

Sure, it doesn't even come close to the original VII, but I actually enjoyed the gameplay (once I got use to the fact that there were no random encounters or turn based battle lol)and as a fan of the franchise, seeing and hearing from old favourites (characters) was a treat :)

One more would be

Devil May Cry 2

Bought it, Played it, and yes it does not compare to 1, 3 or even now 4. However it was still loads of fun......It certainly wasn't as dissapointing as many fans made it out to be....Sure Dante's not as much fun, but that kinda set the mood for me....Everything felt more serious and more like "this is the end"....I think thats what the designers were aiming for aswell.

So even though it wasn't like the other 3 games (soon to be 4 *cough* ninja theory)....the more darker and serious tone did make it stand out from its predecessor's

And for some reason I enjoy

Cabela Big Game Hunter games

....dunno why? ....LOL more strangely its ironic, cause I'm actually completely againest hunting and the fur trade XD

eh, well a games a game....LOL I wouldn't gun down hoardes of men in real life....or be stomping alien guts...its all reserved for the game..:p

JAWS : Unleashed....simple immature savage FUN

Prototype : Loved the game...loved the story...I just wish they hadn't given up on the plot LOL
