Sometimes I can't help but wonder what goes through the heads of people in the various marketing departments across the world. I'm sure you've seen it before: Items and products so hilariously named it makes you laugh or scratch your head in bewilderment.
So, out of my utter boredom I ask you, Escapists - what are some of the weirdest, funniest and/or facepalm-worthy product names you've come across? Share the lulz!
I'll open the floor by referring to two rather memorable food items I encountered while shopping for groceries today.
The first was a type of brie, which I'm sure is quite tasty, but its brand name put me off purchasing it. I don't know about you, but the idea of putting a deliciously soft piece of "Coq" in my mouth just didn't appeal to me for some reason.
Then, as I was about to pay for my groceries, my eye was drawn to some neatly designed packaging, which apparently contained some sort of licorice snack. This one made me facepalm even harder, though, as I read the word "Spunk" in bright yellow letters on a black background. How the hell did the marketers think that would be a good idea? Again, just like "Coq", "Spunk" is something I'd prefer to stay out of my mouth at all times.
