Rain was relieved to be out of the more disgusting part of the underground, making it one less thing to worry about. Of course, what they found was definitely not supposed to be there. It seemed to be some kind of secret lab, though, Rain wasn't completely sure. Perhaps the US had these kinds of buildings underneath the ground?
I don't think that's very likely, though.
The green liquid especially seemed off, though that was mostly because Rain had no idea what kind of machines there were down there, they didn't resemble anything he'd encountered before.
Then again, I thought the same about those self-checkout devices.
He'd just avoided them all together, not wanting to seem like a fool in the middle of the store. More so than being the guy buying the cheapest possible meal he could find, at least. And now he was in a completely different situation, but just as puzzled about the purpose of these machines as he'd been back then.
We don't have to use them, though.
A relief, if nothing else. Looking at the others, none of them seemed familiar with them either, the soldier even making it clear by speaking.
"There are some kind of machines down there. I believe that is where that agent went."
Rain nodded. It seemed likely for the agent to have gone this way. However, then he saw the other typing into a phone, not letting any of the others know who he was sending a message to, or why.
"What are you doing?" he asked, this seemed suspicious. Rain walked a bit closer, trying to see the screen. "Who are you messaging? I---"
From the corner of his eye, he noticed Adrian motioning to him. Shutting his mouth, Rain started walking. The other was prepared for a fight, and Rain decided to do the same, holding his sword readily.
