I have the ability to be calm and levelheaded. And I am articulate and intelligent

However, I choose to be easily excitable and rash. Also, I use "fuck" with every alternate word at times and act upon my most retarded impulses.

For someone so articulate, verbose, and charming, i tend to be shy and anti-social.
This, I also am impressed by how charming and suave I can be but at the same time so awkward. So much so that I get really shocked when I realise that I'm the most popular person at the dinner table considering they had to more or less force me to sit there in the first place.
Also I'm surprised by how I much prefer the company of female friends to male friends despite being myself very much masculine.
Did i create another account just to post that comment? That sounds 101% me. Weird...

I'm surprised by the amount of positive things people say about me. Especially when drunk.

Sometimes I'm surprised at how well I do on tests that I'm not confident about, and how bad I do on tests that I'm sure I aced.

Considering how lost I tend to be in regular life, I exhibit suprisingly calm attitude in emergency situations.

How much of a dick I can be around girls, yet how sweet I am to the ones I date. And how many girls I get.

Honestly, Its astounding

Well, the fact that who would've thought that a few months on from that fateful day I joined the escapist that I would now be celebrating my 700TH POST! (Woohoo, Yay). But in all seriousness, I think something that surprises me about myself is my lack of confidence around people I don't really know, despite the fact that I am a pretty confident, lively character. If I know them fairly well I get along like we're long lost siblings, but put me in a room full of strangers and I get kind of shy and nervous.

I'm extremely shy and asocial...but play a game against me (especially a fighting game), and I will happily trash-talk you, myself, the characters, and fate in general for hours on end. I'm starting to think that I'm not so much asocial as I just don't trust myself to be social, unless I'm in very controlled circumstances (business, usually) or until I get distracted by something.

Also, I tend to not notice things that would impair my enjoyment. I don't think I'd enjoy, say, Kodomo no Jikan so much if I really realized just how much of the lolicon I subconsciously ignore...

I have a surprising ability to get people to like me and a minor memetic badass status among my friends.

Also, I can be rather optimistic and hopeful at times, in stark contrast to usually being the person to bring cynicism into the conversation.

I managed to rack up 30,000 subscribers on youtube by making stupid videos while bored. Never expected that.

Just how I got to here now. At first I was a really nice kid with a squeky voice to a annoying little brat with a voice that breaks at the worst time (and had a fear of gays) to a relatively normal teenager who gets along well with people, mainly because I don't care what people say about me or if they tell me something about someone else I won't encourage it. It surprises me alot when I think about it. If I met myself now, when I was 12 i'd probally hate myself.

My unfortunately messed up synaptic wiring(blame my epileptic druggie mother) has, surprisingly, left me with an insane sense of smell and a condition where I "see" emotional reactions the same way someone with "perfect pitch" sees colors when hearing specific notes. Being an empath kinda sucks because you assume others can read you as well as you read them and you use that as an excuse to be an introvert, and your emotions automatically sync up to the strongest emotion in the room. That's why I can't stand being around screaming children and politicians.
Also, with those come terrible hearing and eyesight.
