Exactly what the topic says people, what things from video games that you just happen to do quite often or unconsciously/consciously in real life?

For me it would be running, not as in jogging, but actually running instead of walking in order to get to places. From home to university, or even just to grab a quick bite at Burger King. Its probably because I'm just quite an impatient kind of person.

Characters in video games, are usually given the option to take their time and walk like what people do in real life instead of running (ie. RPG titles, even in fallout this is an option) unless you happen to walk the whole time when playing these kind of games, then I'd be the odd one out :p.

So, what is it for you guys? I'm kind of expecting someone to say they punch trees to get wood (or a variant of this), or drink water from toilet as opposed to a normal water tap :p.

I just caught myself doing the female night elf idle animation, I'm a guy and I quit WoW about 6 months ago. To make matters worse the Quick Mart employee saw me doing it and imitated it not knowing what it was. I just changed the subject and told him he convinced me to come in and buy a sandwich and a pack of jack links jerky.

I walk into people's houses and go through their things. You know, see what useful items I can find that might be beneficial to my quest.

Kidding, kidding! But sometimes I do find myself comparing real-life situations to video game situations. For example, avoiding those kiosk people in the malls who try to sell you cell phones or nail-care products is very much like avoiding aggressive monsters. You have to take special care to stay out of their range, using other people as barriers if necessary. Eye contact and gestures of greeting are both common aggressors, so avoid them as much as possible!

When someone is outside of range I try to use the force to pull it to me. Most people think I do this as a joke, but I actually do it seriously.

After playing ridiculous amounts of Resident Evil 4, I instinctively fear the sound of chainsaws. Just hearing one makes me panic for a second before I realize that, no, my next door neighbor cutting down a dead tree limb is not in fact Dr. Salvador.

Since horror games, I always carry a flashlight with me.

You never know when you'll enter the mindfuck world of Silent Hill.

I often wonder off in to the woods and kill any creature i come across and rummage through the corpse looking for money...

Oh also, when injured i've been known to walk over a packet of bandages or, if they're not available i'll just lie under a table until i get better.

I will almost instinctively try to throw up a forcefield if a scary monster/enemy soldier/annoying salesperson approaches. Oddly enough, it seems to work.

I sometimes do the running thing too, just because I feel like it. Well, only in the street and around the house from time to time. I'd also run in a shopping centre if it were not very socially inappropriate. Sometimes it's frustrating walking with really slow friends. I also get the urge to pick up random items off the ground in case adding seemingly useless objects to my inventory would come in use some time. Sometimes when I'm outside I think "wow, it's just like a game only it has best resolution graphics and three extra senses." I also imagined places I'd shoot portals if I had an IRL portal gun.

I do both of these also, every situation in my life somehow will go back to gaming.

Sometimes, when I am feeling particularly silly, I will say things to my sister like, and I kid you not,

"To Jump, Press The X Button." Prompting me to Jump.
and I never really get passed that, except for maybe a,
"To punch, press the Square Button".

I never do anything with it, it's just me being a little bit more loony than usual.
